Had hinted at some ability in novice/maiden company but switch to handicaps have not revealed any further progress. Mark is dropping but may have further to go.

Escapes a penalty after blinkers helped him to an 11L success on in a conditionals race when the return to a quicker surface also helped. Had won four times in France, so obvious claims if in the same frame of mind over his longer trip.

Best form came in a good ground bumper in 2015. No show in three attempts over hurdles on softer surfaces and a limited campaign over the past two years may indicate she has had physical issues.

Irish point-to-point winner in February and changed hands since for £5,500. That race amounted to little and well held in two novice hurdles. Trip and grade look more suitable here and he is a potential improver with the yard in form.

Produced an eyecatching display from off the pace at Worcester on penultimate start, but failed to build on that four weeks later. Still has something to prove.

Landed a Hexham seller in June. Has since joined a new yard and has failed to get in a telling blow. Yard have only had two winners since February and none since July.

Only had one other finisher behind on latest start in what was a poor race. Winning point-to-pointer on good ground and that latest run indicates his mark has further to slip.

Has won an Irish point-to-point and has been placed in a hunter chase. Probably better than we have seen but hard to argue she is well-handicapped. Still worth a market check.

31 months since his last win and has only made the frame three times since, whilst being beaten an aggregate 99L in the process. Mark is slipping but he remains a risk.

Has endured plenty of racing since his Ludlow success in April (2m good), yet still remains 4lb above his last winning mark. His record of one win in his last 51 starts limits his appeal.

Winning point-to-pointer who appeared to be getting the hang of things from a reduced mark on his last couple of runs. A 5lb rise is a concern given the form looked nothing special and the subsequent effort of the second

Lacks consistency but managed to land a Fakenham seller last November. Suited to forcing tactics and good claimer has been booked. Current mark would give him a chance if the mood suits judged by his latest effort.

Form was in steep decline before joining this yard and no signs that is ready to be reversed. Tongue-tie now fitted.

Little endeavour so far and even the most rose tinted of glasses will find it hard to envisage this one coming home in front.

Forecasts

Bambi Du Noyer (11/8), Indian Reel (5/1), Taroum (7/1), Red Admirable (8/1), Rebel Beat (12/1), Walter Oneeightone (14/1), Ducloyne Lady (16/1), Come On Louis (16/1), Ballybrowneybridge (20/1), Towering (25/1), Suffice (25/1), Anton Dolin (25/1), Crack Du Tay (33/1), The Greenvet (40/1), Centreofexcellence (50/1), Outrageous Romana (100/1)

Verdict

BAMBI DU NOYER is hard to oppose following Friday's romp at Exeter for which he escapes a penalty. His price will probably offer little value though and there is a concern the blinkers may fail to have the same inspirational effect. Nevertheless, the rest of the bunch are hard to enthuse over. Taroum looks the pick of his rivals judged on his Newton Abbot fourth when BAMBI DU NOYER was behind. That rival has obviously improved since and consistency has never been Taroum's strong suit. Walter Oneeightone has seen a dramatic fall in his handicap mark and, given the form of his yard, a market move would speak volumes in a race this poor.
