Bumper and hurdles winner with relatively few miles on the clock. Off since a below par effort in January (Wincanton), but represents leading connections as he tackles the combination of a longer trip and fences for the first time.

Hard to identify any real positives from his three starts under rules, but in all fairness he was well outclassed on his chasing debut over C&D in May. However, a similar story is likely today on his seasonal return.

8/1
Made all to win going away when off the mark at the 14th attempt at Downpatrick in August (2m5f+ yielding). Has left Gordon Elliott since for £12,000 and makes his chasing debut for new connections this side of the Irish Sea.
Dual point-to-point scorer who left Paul Nicholls for £28,000 after a low key hurdles debut. Showed improved form sent handicapping, to score by 6L at Huntingdon in May (3m1f+ good), and now switches to chasing for the first time under rules.

Just A Feeling23
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-11| J: Ian Popham| T: D Skelton
25/1
A runner up in a couple of bumpers and a Ludlow mares novices hurdle (2m5f+ good) for previous trainer Paul Webber, but no show in a pair of hurdle starts last month for new connections (£10,000 purchase), so much more required on chasing debut.

Forecasts

Above Board (1/3), The Happy Chappy (9/2), Polymath (8/1), Just A Feeling (25/1), Honourable Henry (100/1)

Verdict

Four rules chasing newcomers tackle a fairly exposed rival with limited chasing experience (Honourable Henry), with a number of the runners representing fairly new connections. The Happy Chappy has won a couple of point-to-points, and showed improved form in handicap hurdles after swiftly leaving Paul Nicholls for £28,000, but ABOVE BOARD is surely the horse with the brightest future over fences. He has very few miles on the clock, and whilst absent since early January and perhaps ideally suited by softer conditions, the booking of Barry Geraghty catches the eye, and he represents the most obvious pick.
