Inconsistent sort whose losing run now stands at 18, better effort last time at Ripon (5f, soft) and cannot be factored out dropping in class.
Won a brace of big-field 5f handicaps last season and does seem best suited over this trip. Standout form all came on good to firm however, so certainly not going to want any further rain to fall. Others appeal more.
Record is 4-34 on turf and more likely to hit the frame, as he's done in three of four starts since winning over 6f at Hamilton in August. Is rated 8lb higher than when scoring there and may be vulnerable for win purposes.
Trainer has a very good record with his sprinters and this gelding has won two of previous three starts, both over 5f on soft ground. Up another 5lb this time, but two-time C&D winner may get involved.
A year since most recent win came over 5f on AW at Chelmsford, string of poor efforts on turf this summer and was again poor on AW 18 days ago, very hard to fancy at this point.
Three-time winner earlier this year, including here, but all came over 7f. Out of form in three runs back from a break and may find this is too sharp.
Mare is a frequent flyer here, winning over C&D on debut for new yard on first of this month, before just failing under a 6lb penalty a week ago. Races off 1lb lower and must be on the shortlist in current vein of form.
Won on debut at Beverley (5f, soft) in July but has not really threatened to add to that success since. Dropped back to 5f and with some relief from the assessor, cannot be considered a forlorn hope.
Has shown precious little in five starts since joining this yard from France in August, all over the minimum trip. Handicap mark has dropped 12lb as a result, hard to fancy on form but market check advised.
On a long losing run but starting to look dangerously well-handicapped and duly ran a stormer at Ripon last time over 6f (soft) when getting collared on the line. Up 2lb but has rider's claim and is respected as such with blinkers back on.

A tricky contest to assess and it may prove wise to heed the claim in favour of last-time-out runner-up B FIFTY TWO. That was a pleasing return to form and he was only just caught late on. The 7lb claim now would make him hard to hold on similar form and the headgear is also returning to aid his cause now. Ballesteros is not the most consistent but could have a say while former C&D winner One Boy comes here in excellent heart and has to be respected despite his latest ratings hike. Noah Amor and Economic Crisis complete the shortlist in a wide open race.
