Won second of two point-to-points at Kilworth in March, over 3m. Will enjoy this stiff 2m4f and handle ground so could go well first time if fully wound up.

Moderate on the flat (63 rating) and was well beaten at a big price on hurdles debut an Southwell. Softer ground and longer trip both question marks here so tough to fancy.
Second in two point-to-points earlier this year both over 2m4f. Ridden from the front on both occasions he looked as if stretched stamina wise so that remains a concern although has youth on his side.

Debutant has a nice jumps pedigree. By Melbourne Cup third Mahler and half brother to high class 3m hurdler Shantou Bob. Trainer without a winner this season and just one from 35 in this sphere last five years so best watched.

Made a really nice impression in lone bumper, winning despite running green in heavy ground at Newcastle. Not bred to stay much beyond this but looked capable of extra 4f at Newcastle and looks a major player if jumping well.
Wide margin Irish point-to-point winner in February, Dam is a half-sister to a French hurdle/chase winner. No issues ground wise or stamina wise and could go well for trainer with good record here.

Well beaten in a Newcastle bumper back in December, his lone start. First foal out of a dam who won over hurdles at 3m1½f so 6f longer trip than bumper will suit but not enough evidence to make a case for.

Unplaced in 10 starts to date, seven of them over hurdles. Lone start over this far saw him last and fading severely. Not played a part in sellers lately and huge surprise if playing a part today.

Won a maiden point-to-point but beaten out of sight in two hurdle and two chase races in Ireland. Changed trainer but current without a winner this season and that will likely continue after this.

Moderate efforts in three bumpers to date at Carlisle, Wetherby and here. No evidence to suggest she will feature prominently on hurdles bow.

Looked potentially smart when winning bumper on debut but tailed off on hurdles debut in September 2016 and not seen since so presumably finished lame. If she is ready and retains ability she is a leading contender.

Forecasts

Niceandeasy (9/4), Saint Freule (5/2), Jeu De Mots (7/2), Only Orvieto (6/1), Allmyown (9/1), Secret Passenger (18/1), Bit Of A Quirke (20/1), Mah Mate Bob (50/1), Spinning Scooter (66/1), Corinda (100/1), Avondhu Pearl (100/1)

Verdict

The hurdles form on offer here is limited and generally to a moderate level so NICEANDEASY is worth chancing on his hurdling debut. He looked useful on his only racecourse outing and the ground here will be no concern to him. It will be interesting to see the return of Only Orvieto who looked good on debut and whose latest run should probably be forgotten, market support for her would be significant. There are a couple of former point-to-pointers worth noting here and Saint Freule could be the best of them.
  1. Niceandeasy
  2. Only Orvieto
  3. Saint Freule
