Began the year winning over fences and rated 140 in that sphere at one stage. Came back from a summer break to make a successful switch to the Flat, winning a Ripon maiden (1m4f, soft) last month. Acts on heavy and is an interesting in a handicap.
In fine form of late, winning a 2m Musselburgh handicap in August and then landing back-to-back novices hurdles (including on heavy) lately. 5lb higher than that Musselburgh win, but on a roll and is a serious player.
Stays 2m and has three soft ground wins to his name, though his last success was on the All Weather in May. Has gone eight races since then without much encouragement, but now 12lb lower and with the former champ back on board he could do better.
One of his two wins was here over 1m5f (soft) last year from 11lb higher. Has been on the slide since, but hinted at a return to winning ways when a 1L runner-up over 1m4f (heavy) at Haydock last time. Not ruled out but stamina is a slight concern.
Won a soft ground bumper over 1m6f, though has yet to score on the Flat from six starts. Best effort was at Ripon last time, when a 1L second (1m4f, good to soft) from today's mark. Acts on heavy and has claims if in similar form.
Two of his three wins have been here over 1m5f, while he added a soft ground success to that at Doncaster (1m6½f) last year. Now 5lb lower than the last of those and has run well here in defeat from slightly higher this season. Each-way claims.
Stays marathon trips, though you have to go back to 2014 for his latest win (over 2m5½f at Pontefract), so not easy to catch right these days. Acts on heavy and went close at Carlisle (1m6f) last month from this mark. Each-way squeak on that basis.
Just about sees out 2m on the Flat, though yet to win beyond 1m6f, as his most recent success was at Wolverhampton on December. Handles cut in the ground and is consistently competitive from this mark. Should be thereabouts.
Hasn't fluffed his lines too often this year and won at Hamilton (1m4f, soft) two starts ago from 3lb lower. Went very close to following-up from this mark at Musselburgh last week (1m6f, soft). Has to prove he gets this far, but is a player.
Won a heavy ground Nottingham handicap over 2m in August and backed that up with a defeat of just 1¼L from 6lb higher at Catterick (2m, soft) next time. Again ran well at Carlisle in defeat last month, but another 2lb nudge up makes this tough.

Smart chaser Mixboy is interesting on his handicap debut in this sphere, but that Ripon maiden that he won was pretty ordinary and he will need a fair bit of improvement to follow up. More reliable may be the form of GOLDEN JEFFREY, who is not as good as Keith Dalgleish's charge over jumps, but who comes here in cracking form across both codes, stays 2m on the Flat and acts on the forecast ground. Hurricane Hollow is not without a chance, while Captain Swift and London Glory are others for whom a win would not surprise.
