40-1 but showed that there may be a race in her in time when a 17½L sixth on her debut in a Down Royal bumper last month. Can begin to build on that on some better ground here.
Not enjoyed the most fortunate of starts to her career, slipping up on debut at Stratford and then last of either, beaten 46L lengths back there in July. Faster ground may help her improve, but a watching brief is advised.
Fourth foal of a half-sister to 13 winners, including both Flat and jumps, two of those jumping winners being in Listed company. Lovely pedigree for her trainer to work with and with his 20% bumper strike rate she is well worth a market check.
Cost a mere £3,500 at two. Half-sister to 2m4f-3m chase winner Dingo Bay. Dam was a 2m7f-3m2f hurdle winner herself, so she looks one to watch with interest on debut for a yard that is 2-5 in bumpers this season.
Went very close to winning on debut at Southwell (soft) in March, and although not quite as good, she did well again on both subsequent starts. This looks like another good chance for her to make her presence felt if she can handle good to firm.
Another who went close on debut at Newton Abbot (2m1f, good) in August and she stepped up on that a little when occupying the same spot at Stratford last time. Visored now and if that works she won't be far away.
Changed hands twice last year, for €35,000 and then £50,000. Half-sister to five winners in France, out of an unraced half-sister to a 5f-1m3½f Flat winner. Yard without a bumper winner this season (usually 9%) Market check advised.
Runner-up on debut at Market Rasen in March (2m½f, good) and performed to a similar level when an 8L fourth at Fakenham a month later. Yard in form and if she has improved for her summer break, then she could take a close hand at the business end.
Point-to-point flop who showed a bit of promise on her second start in this sphere when making the frame (beaten 10½L) at Worcester last month. Something to build on there, but it will surprise if she is good enough this time.
Forecasts
Grania O'Malley (6/4), Lady Vesta (4/1), Nalinka De La Mare (4/1), Presenting Pearl (5/1), Cora Sundrop (7/1), Fine Ark (16/1), Bracka Lily (25/1), Shadow's Girl (33/1), Celer Et Audax (100/1)
Grania O'Malley sets the standard on what she has achieved so far and will be no easy beat, but she is also vulnerable at the same time and the suggestion is to take her on with newcomer CORA SUNDROP, who has a nice pedigree and represents a trainer with a decent strike rate in this sphere. Presenting Pearl looks to be a potential improver from a stable who's runners are going well, along with Lady Vesta.
- Cora Sundrop
- Grania O'malley
