High-class novice campaign highlighted by third to stablemate Disko in Punchestown Grade 1 when last seen in April. That arguably the best form here so big chance if that improved effort wasn't a one off.

Not seen since pulling up in the 2016 Irish Grand National when well fancied. Grade Two winning hurdler and placed at that level over fences. Certainly capable if he retains his ability but that is the question mark.

Gained first chase win over C&D in August. Been disappointing over fences overall but high class hurdler and seems to favour this sort of distance. With fitness edge he should make a bold bid.

95L last of four to Arbre De Vie in August and beaten even further last time out. Won in July but major surprise if he finishes ahead of any completing rival here.
Ultra-consistent sort made an impressive start to chase career at Navan last time out. Jumped really well there so concerns against experienced chasers limited. Hard to quantify here but clearly a smart prospect and will enjoy extra 2f.

Forecasts

Arbre De Vie (5/4), A Genie In Abottle (6/4), Call The Taxie (5/1), Mala Beach (12/1), Cable (100/1)

Verdict

It may pay to chance A GENIE IN ABOTTLE here. Noel Meade's second season chaser ran a blinder when last seen at Punchestown and could develop into a smart stayer this winter. Providing he is fit enough to do himself justice on his reappearance he could have too much for these rivals. Arbre De Vie will be popular for the all-conquering Mullins/Walsh/Ricci combination and he has the benefit of recent runs over a couple of his main rivals. Mala Beach will likely be ring-rusty after such a long absence so unexposed Call The Taxie is probably the biggest danger elsewhere.

  2. Arbre De Vie
  3. Call The Taxie
