Has a good record at this time of year and won the Listed Boadicea Stakes at this meeting last year. Lightly campaigned this time around, but showed signs of a comeback at Salisbury last time and has each-way claims from 1lb higher.

Won a good ground Haydock maiden over this trip last autumn and added to that with a fast ground York win (6f) in June. Has continued to progress and was runner-up in Listed company at Pontefract in August and can't be ruled out from 3lb higher.

Was the decisive winner of a Class 4 handicap at Brighton (6f, good) last month before following up with an improved effort at Pontefract. Up a further 5lb here, but looking progressive and probably has decent claims.

Rattled off a four-timer last year on good/fast ground/AW and was beaten just a head by Kassia in Listed company on her final start. Unable to cut the mustard at pattern level this time, but given a chance by the handicapper here and not ruled out.

Enjoyed a good spring/summer with three wins from 5f-6f and on a variety of ground, but a rise in the weights and in grade has put paid to her chances on her last two starts and hard to see her being good enough in this.

Has put together a consistent campaign that has included a win at Bath (5½f, firm) as well as being placed in Listed company. Creditable effort back at Bath last time from 1lb higher, but probably has frame claims at best in this line-up.

Sole success was in a 7f maiden (good to firm) on this track last year for Godolphin. Has threatened only once this term when 1½L runner-up at Haydock (6f, good to soft) in August. 2lb higher today and will probably find a few too good.

Rely On Mep30

Won over this trip (good) in August and finished behind 1¼L behind Kassia, a neck ahead of Clear Water and 1¼L to the good over Pixeleen when third at Salisbury last time. From the same mark she needs to find a bit extra to be winning this.

Won a Lingfield maiden in June before being thrown in at Group 3 level at Goodwood (7f, soft) and being beaten 5¾L. Things didn't go her way in Listed company at Pontefract last time, but she remains an interesting contender here.

A drop in the ratings prompted a win at Lingfield (6f, good to soft) last time, when first-time blinkers were used. They are retained here, but her previous record from this sort of mark this season suggests that she will find this tough.

7lb higher than when scoring at Leicester in May, but has improved sufficiently since then to go close from this mark at Yarmouth last time. This is a tougher contest, but she has each-way claims at what should be a working man's price.

Turanga Leelav28
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-7| J: Manuel Fernandes(5)| T: Ian Williams| OR:  82| D

Both of her turf wins have been at Chester over this trip on good/fast ground. Remains 5lb higher than the more recent of those in May, but has shown she can be competitive and no reason to suggest that she won't be again this time.

Yet to win beyond 5f and prefers fast ground, though ran well enough to be a 1¾L third in a Class 4 at Yarmouth (6f, good to soft) last time, to suggest that she won't be a million miles away today from the same mark.

Madame Bounty50
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-2| J: Hollie Doyle(3)| T: E Walker| OR:  77| D
16/1
Put together back-to-back wins in a Windsor maiden (6f, good to firm) and a Newbury handicap (5f) in June/July, though out of sorts twice since on the Polytrack and then soft ground. Return to a sound surface may help and not ruled out.

Forecasts

Marie Of Lyon (11/2), Kassia (13/2), Eartha Kitt (7/1), Magical Dreamer (8/1), Rely On Me (9/1), Gravity Flow (11/1), Pixeleen (12/1), Clear Water (12/1), Rosabelle (12/1), Turanga Leela (14/1), Madame Bounty (16/1), Rose Berry (20/1), Tundra (20/1), Under The Covers (40/1)

Verdict

Plenty of decent, though exposed performers here in what should be a very competitive heat. The selection is MARIE OF LYON, who has now begun to look progressive and could have too much for this field. At the foot of the card, Madame Bounty has perhaps had excuses on her last two starts and now back on a sound surface, she might go well at a price. Tundra is another of interest, along with Eartha Kitt and Kassia.
  1. Marie Of Lyon
  2. Tundra
  3. Madame Bounty
