Exceed and Excel colt, cost 80,000 gns as a foal and €200,000 as a yearling. Half-brother to Group 1 winning juvenile sprinter and dam a sprint winner. Promising fourth of nine on debut here and shaped like he would appreciate this step up in trip.

Siyouni colt, cost €35,000 as a yearling and €155,000 as a two-year-old. Half-brother to Group 2 winner Ming Dynasty and dam a half-sister to French Oaks runner-up Millionaia. Makes appeal on pedigree but yard's debutantes often need the run.

Roderic O'Connor colt, dam a winner over this trip and stayed a little further. Well beaten on both starts to date and may do better when tried in handicaps.

Lonhro colt, cost 300,000 gns as a two-year-old. Dam a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Holy Bull. Holds Group 1 entries (including Racing Post Trophy). Promising debut at Newbury and likely to do better here with that under his belt upped in trip.

Frankel colt, cost $325,000 as a yearling and re-sold for 250,000 gns. Half-brother to Australian Group 1 winner Hartnell and Group 1 placed Roz (over C&D). Beautifully bred but yard have been a little quiet lately and debutantes often need the run.
Poet's Voice colt, half-brother to Iceni Girl (winner over this trip as a juvenile) and Kaufmann. Dam a half-sister to two winners. Yard in excellent form but others make more appeal on pedigree.

Camelot filly, cost 50,000 gns as a yearling. Half-sister to three winners and dam a half-sister to Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Bachelor Duke. Green on debut and a little unlucky in the run last time. Plenty more needed here regardless though.

Forecasts

Old Persian (8/11), Knight To Behold (5/2), Gronkowski (11/4), Wilfred Owen (8/1), Balletomane (14/1), Hazarfan (16/1), Cristal Spirit (16/1), Courtside (20/1), Arthenia (40/1), Echo Cove (50/1)

Verdict

There was plenty to like about KNIGHT TO BEHOLD's debut at Newbury last month and that run sets a solid standard for the rest to aim at. Gronkowski is beautifully bred and should improve from his debut run while Old Persian improved to win on his second start and is likely to give another good account.
  1. Knight To Behold
  2. Gronkowski
  3. Old Persian
