Gets a change of yard and that could well see him back to his old form which saw him score back-to-back wins at Southwell over 3m. Has the assistance of a leading conditional here although he would probably appreciate a little more ease in the surface.
No stranger to this track (seven times course winner) although his last win here did come some 18 months ago now but off a 5lb higher mark. When last seen in the spring his form was rather laboured so he needs to show more zip now back from a break.
Produced a very laboured effort around here yesterday that run very much in keeping with her recent efforts. If she does take part she can only be watched given her recent form or lack of it.
Up in trip with cheekpieces on for the first time he managed to produce his best form so far over C&D in August. Failed to match that outing last time though and his form overall has a rather dubious look about it.
Jumped well when making the switch to forcing tactics at Huntingdon in March over a shorter trip having previously looked limited over fences. Not seen since that win but has run well over hurdles here and given a chance if he's ready to go after a break.
Sent chasing for a second time after recording a hurdles win in June at Newton Abbot it looked as though the penny might have dropped as she took the runner-up spot (still ran in snatches). Failed to build on that though and needs to bounce back here.
Fortunate winner on his 6th start over fences (C&D) when he was left in front between the last two and looked an unlikely follow-up candidate. That assumption proved correct as he jumped poorly last time and found this mark too stiff to overcome.
4lb out of the handicap here and that factor will immediately make life tough as he makes his 4th start over fences. Has shown very little so far over obstacles and not hard to pass over here.
Forecasts
Fly Home Harry (13/8), Hardtorock (9/2), Raising Hope (5/1), Orchestrated (7/1), Benability (7/1), Venetian Lad (12/1), Adarenna (20/1), The Land Agent (28/1)
Not the most exciting of events with a few insecure profiles that will come under the microscope here. Fly Home Harry would have a chance on his best form and has to be respected given the change of yard but the ground may be a little quick for him. Venetian Lad knows his way around here but his losing run is starting to stack up now and the form of Hardtorock and Raising Hope can hardly be seen as solid. With the Tim Vaughan stable having looked in reasonable form of late it may be best to side with BENABILITY who looked an improved animal ridden from the front last time and he could make them all go if he’s ready to go first time up after a break.
- Benability
- Fly Home Harry
- Raising Hope
