Jumped well on chasing debut last month. Should have little difficulty in winning a beginners event but this is a particularly hot race.
2
Horse silk
2/1
Useful 148-rated hurdler who has fallen in two of his four chase starts and been undone by mistakes in the others. He had jumped well in the main last time until misjudging the last. Carries some risk in a race where he can ill afford any errors.

Capital Force25
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: A E Lynch| T: H De Bromhead| BF| D
11/2
Rated behind Bamako Moriviere and Tombstone over hurdles. Took his chance in the Supreme Novices Hurdle following a Thurles victory on ground softer than ideal. Fell when in contention on chasing debut and represents last year's winning yard.
4
Horse silk
66/1
Winning point-to-pointer who would appreciate much further than this. Should lack the speed to trouble the principals in what is an above average contest.
6

Mount Beckham104
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-12| J: A W Short(7)| T: C Cannon| D
50/1
Hurdle form was well below the levels achieved by the principals in this. Flattered by his proximity to the winner last time but probably has a small race in him.

33/1
Winner of a couple of minor handicap hurdles and highly tried on last attempt over fences. Probably has the ability to win one of these but he is in deep here.

Tailed-off on both chase starts this term and taking on much better company now. Looks to have plenty to do.

25/1
Winner here over hurdles and not disgraced at the Punchestown Festival. The ground turned against him at Galway but hard to forgive a poor run last time. Jumps fences for the first time in public and needs to improve considerably for the switch.

Has looked of limited ability and hood now fitted for first run in a year. Looks totally out of his depth.

Spider Web10
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: Mark Walsh| T: T Mullins
50/1
Winner of a couple of hurdles in modest company. Has not jumped fluently since switching to fences and he needs to find about 30lb on hurdling form to trouble the leading contenders.

Tombstone162
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-12| J: D N Russell| T: G Elliott| C| D
11/10
Smart hurdler who accounted for Jezki last term. Long considered a smart chasing prospect and due to be partnered by a rider who has won two of the last four renewals of this. Goes well fresh and stable are going well.

Verdict

Capital Force represents last year's winning trainer and was going well until tipping over on his debut over fences. On hurdling form he has plenty to find with TOMBSTONE who represents the trainer/jockey combination who landed this in 2013. He looks the pick of these on hurdling form and has been long considered a smart prospect when going chasing. He performs well when fresh and is preferred to Bamako Moriviere. Willie Mullins' charge has not looked a natural over fences as yet but appeared to be getting the hang of things last time until putting in a stride too many at the last. A clean round under a similarly positive ride would make him hard to beat, given his fitness advantage, but he looks too risky at present.
  1. Tombstone
  2. Bamako Moriviere
  3. Capital Force
