Showed very little on his hurdles debut at Down Royal starting at 33/1 and finishing towards the back; lot more needed here to take a hand.
Only Flat win came in a Goodwood seller over 1m3f when with Eve Johnson Houghton and he wasn't seen to best effect in his only start for this yard at Yarmouth. Now makes his hurdles debut and looks as though he should be capable in this sphere at a low level.
His form on the Flat was poor (0/12) and there doesn't look much better to come for the switch to hurdles. Shown nothing in two starts so far and hard to envision him winning anything like this.
Makes his first start over hurdles having been just modest on the Flat when with Stan Moore; ran in claimers last three starts. Little appeal given his Flat form starting out for a new stable with first-time tongue-tie on.
Looked the sort especially given connections that would be seen over hurdles sooner rather than later and comes here fresh off breaking his maiden in that sphere at Chepstow over 2m. Further improvement likely and clearly has to be respected here on hurdles debut.
Winner on the Flat when with Karl Burke over 1m4f he now makes his hurdling debut off the back of coming home well held in a Lingfield claimer for his new yard. Should have no problems with the trip but one or two looks to have more ability.
Now gelded he remains a maiden on the Flat after seven starts but has shaped well at a modest level on a couple of occasions. Doubtful that he's good enough to beat the principles here but stays well and worth watching in the market.
Took fourth place in a Listed newcomers hurdle at Auteuil on soft ground back in April over 1m6f (started at 14/1) finishing close enough to the joint favourites who finished first and third. Represents powerful connections with experience under his belt.
Showed some good form on the Flat (won off 72) for this yard and now turns his attentions to hurdling. Half-brother to a winning 2m hurdler and this yard are no strangers to winner around this track; interesting on debut.
Forecasts
Kozier (11/8), Sussex Ranger (13/8), Risk And Roll (4/1), Delannoy (14/1), Dan Gun (33/1), Mr Scaff (33/1), Ladofash (40/1), Hold Me Tight (66/1), Hi There Silver (80/1)
The usual mixed bag for a juvenile hurdle with the standard set by RISK AND ROLL who was placed on his debut in France and may well put his experience to good use here as he returns to action and his first run for Paul Nicholls with a tongue-tie on for the first time. Both Sussex Ranger and Kozier have shown winning form on the Flat with the former winning and running in a higher grade although it will be no surprise if the latter turns out to be the better over hurdles. Most of the others look forlorn hopes although Mr Scaff and Delannoy may be able to pick up a weak version of one of these but they appear to have run into three potentially useful types in this sphere here.
- Risk And Roll
- Kozier
- Sussex Ranger
