Took two of the five novice hurdles that he contested but on the evidence of his form overall there his initial handicap mark of 128 looked a little high. A five month break and a 5lb drop in the weights saw some progress and he should enjoy this test better.
His hurdles form last year marked him down as progressive with three wins to his name (successful over this trip). Switched to chasing after his last hurdles win he's yet to show quite the same form in that sphere; interesting here back over hurdles.
Caused a surprise when winning his novice at Chepstow over 2m on soft ground (much improved form) but it may well not have been the best idea to trying him over 4f further on his handicap debut. Looked highly tried there in terms of trip and mark; stiff task now.
An increased trip appeared to provide the impetus for a win after a dearth of success under an enterprising ride at Taunton but in a lesser grade than this. Well beaten off higher marks since then over hurdles and more needed here to get involved.
Benefitted from his debut in bumpers when winning his second start in that sphere but his runs in handicap hurdles have so far brought his resolution into question. Placed on his last three starts this trip may suit but it remains to be seen if he can deliver.
Winning hurdler in novice company who looked a long way ahead of his mark when tried in handicaps back in 2015. Only had one try in this sphere of late and shaped well on the Flat of late (needed the run) and well handicapped on his best form.
His hurdles form from earlier in the year reads well and he stayed on well to take a handicap over 3m2f at Newton Abbot when last seen resuming winning ways after a break. Only up 2lb for that win but will find this a much more testing grade than last time.

Several interesting types in this handicap hurdle in their own way with Resolution Bay sure to make his mark over a trip that should suit him although the mark still looks a rather stiff one. Sutter’s Mill has to now cope with a higher grade off a break while the resolution of Quarenta will be tested again here and that part of his game has been found wanting in the past. Tanarpino showed some progressive form previously over hurdles but a chance is taken on the well handicapped AVIATOR after his recent prep run on the Flat.
