€23,000 yearling by Clodovil. Half-brother to six winners including 1m½f US Grade Three winner No Explaining. Trainer just had one two-year old runner this season. Best watched on debut.
Deep Impact debutant out of 6f two-year old Group Three winner. Half brother to winners in Germany and Qatar. Stables two-year olds usually improve for first race.
By Galileo out of a mare related to New Approach, Australia and Capri. Market suggested stable second string on debut when 11L 9th to Mcmunigal . Stable juveniles regularly improve rapidly from first to second start so not dismissed.
Red Jazz entire out of a Motivator mare, related to recent winners Fabulous Red and Arabian Jazz. 11L 10th behind Mcmunigal on debut, neck behind Flag Of Honour. Very surprising if he reverses placings.
Cost €80,000 and is a half-brother to a winning sprinter. Dam is a sister to Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Saoire. Gelded since latest disappointing run at Galway in July. Showed promise on debut at Leopardstown before that.
Invincible Spirit debutant out of Sapphire, a Group Two winner up to 1m4f from an exceptional Moyglare Stud family. Trainer not known for two-year old winners but few will have such a pedigree.
Galileo debutant half-brother to five winners all from 7f to 1m1f. Looks stable third string on jockey bookings and carries the second set of Magnier silks.
Acclamation colt beaten 9¼L when 12th of 16 in only start to date back in August. Major step forward needed to be competitive here.
Holy Roman Emperor filly out of a Selkirk mare related to Hong Kong winners Designs On Rome and Beauty Only. Had a couple of these ahead when 14L 12th of 15 here on debut and unlikely to feature today.
Declaration of War filly should improve with time but didn't impress on debut over 7f at the Curragh last month. Hard to fancy.
Forecasts
Flag Of Honour (4/6), Conclusion (6/1), Lethal Power (13/2), Jewel Maker (10/1), Kenya (12/1), Impactful (12/1), A Smooth Criminal (14/1), Burning Question (33/1), Groovy Jazz (50/1), War Child (66/1)
None of those with race form here make compelling claims and therefore it would be no surprise to see a debut winner. Of the debutants Dermot Weld's JEWEL MAKER has the most notable pedigree. Flag Of Honour could take a major step forward on his second start as so many from his stable do. Impactful was disappointing on his second start but could bounce back now gelded.
- Jewel Maker
- Flag Of Honour
- Impactful
