It is now well over two years since his sole chase success at Uttoxeter, though he has run some good races in defeat from similar marks to today's since then. Arrives on the back of some good hurdles form and not without a chance under his claimer.
Point-to-point winner who is 0-17 under rules and having been placed eight times, he is proving frustrating for followers. Not beaten far twice from higher marks than this earlier in the year, so not badly treated, though clearly carries risks.
Former Grade 3 hurdle winner whose three chase success have been spread over six years, the latest being at Taunton (2m5½f, good) in March. Out of form since, but now 1lb lower and a return to form would not be a huge surprise.
Has won on all types of ground including soft for his latest success at Fontwell (2m1½f) in January. Held back there from just 1lb higher than today on his only subsequent start, so needs to find a bit. Has won when fresh.
1-20 so far, though that win came over C&D in June from 5lb lower. Ran well enough last time at Newton Abbot from 2lb higher, though probably has each-way claims on this occasion.
Has been unable to add to his back to back wins from 2015 either over hurdles or fences and now finds himself 2lb lower than his last winning mark. Even so, recent efforts have been dismal and it takes some leap of faith to see him winning this.
0-14, though his two chase outings so far have suggested that he may be capable of winning in this sphere. However, except for one run in France, he has been unable to produce much form with any cut in the ground.
Has won four chases at up to 2m5f, though the last of them was over three years ago. Now rated 39lb lower, but despite such a slide he has rarely threatened to add to that win and cannot be recommended again in this.
It's just over two years and 17 starts since he last won a race from what was a 14lb higher mark. Out of the handicap again today and can only see that losing run increasing.

Forecasts
Jonagold (5/2), Walden Prince (3/1), Whos De Baby (4/1), Mr Mafia (11/2), Atlantic King (9/1), Skint (9/1), Bennachie (9/1), Drumlang (10/1), Mr Bachster (10/1), Tribal Dance (66/1)
Mr Mafia looks capable of going well under top weight, while Skint might be able to return to form from today's mark. Mr Bachster is one to note in the market as he has won when fresh, although he might just be in the grip of the assessor. Whos De Baby has frame claims again along with Jonagold, though preference is for WALDEN PRINCE, who returned to form last time and might have a race like this in him.
- Walden Prince
- Mr Mafia
- Mr Bachster
