Won three times on the Flat in France, but has yet to score for his current trainer and attempts hurdling for the first time. Could be a factor if he takes to it.
Fair AW Flat performer who was well held on his debut for this trainer in a maiden hurdle at Navan. Much more needed.
Looked a horse with a future when winning a Punchestown bumper on his debut. Will have been well schooled for his hurdling debut and looks a major player.
Not much to shout about in two bumpers and a maiden hurdle when trained in England. Plenty to prove on his debut for this trainer.
Winning point-to-pointer who showed some promise when third of nine on his hurdling bow at Listowel. Should improve for the outing and has an each-way shout.
Won one of his six point-to-points and not without promise in a couple of bumpers. One of the more likely sorts on his hurdling debut.
Has shown little in three maiden hurdles outings and was sent off at 100-1 when down the field at Navan last time. Readily opposed.
Placed three times in point-to-points, but two hurdles outings have not been encouraging. Another with plenty to prove.
Latest of two point-to-point outings saw him finished third of 16 at Ballingarry. That showed he has ability and he now needs to translate that to hurdles.
Beaten a long way in two maiden hurdles and a bumper. Cannot be considered until he shows much more.
Son of Robin Des Champs out of a Beneficial mare, so bred for this job. Sent off at 66-1 when a first-flight faller on debut at Leopardstown in December so best watched on this occasion.
Son of successful sire Westerner who beat only one rival in a Ballinrobe bumper last month. Tries hurdling and needs to show big improvement.
Son of Westerner whose dam won a point-to-point. Makes some appeal on paper and market will probably be the best guide to his chance on debut.
Forecasts
Roaring Bull (2/7), Danse Away (7/1), Cash In Mind (8/1), Cowboy Des Long (9/1), Wigs On The Green (20/1), Charlie's Charm (33/1), Sheperds Cave (33/1), Lusis Naturea (50/1), Swipe West (66/1), Seskin Flyer (100/1), Tungsten Kid (100/1), Mustmeetforapint (100/1), Keep Rocking (100/1)
Many of these looks to be works in progress and there appears to be a stand-out contender in ROARING BULL, who landed a Punchestown bumper on debut and should be too good for his rivals if taking to hurdles. Fair Flat performer Cash In Mind is interesting on his hurdling debut, while others to consider are Cowboy Des Long, Danse Away and Sheperds Cave.
- Roaring Bull
- Cowboy Des Long
- Cash In Mind
