Ordinary breeding but has hinted at ability - the first of his two runs at Towcester his best effort so far. Not so good back at the same course back in May and concerning absence since then.
Cost £68,000 at the Doncaster sales, he won the second of his two starts in Irish Point-to-points well. Joined a very capable yard for this type of race and noteworthy that he is another runner to be sent up with a selectively decent chance.
Hints at ability and not beaten far at Kelso last time. Needs to use that as a platform but that race was nothing out of the ordinary and he now has a bit to prove. Was well backed at Kelso; so interesting to read the market interpretation today.
Cost £22,000 as a three-year-old, the gelding finished third of 13 on debut at Wetherby in March. Given plenty of time to develop since then, he is another worth a betting check
Yard highly respected and this former point-to-pointer has plenty going for him on the evidence available. Won the second of his two starts in a point with plenty up his sleeve. Serious contender here.
Swapped hands for £30,000 at the Cheltenham sales last November after winning his third start in a point-to-point decisively. Yard noted for runners of this type and is another squeezed onto the shortlist for future reference at least.
Well held in Bumpers at Newcastle and Market Rasen and will need the switch to an undulating track to initiate a huge amount of improvement. Others readily preferred.
Third of 7 on debut at Southwell wan't devoid of promise, so worth a check in the betting. Although worth noting he did get very tired near the finish and may not want the ground too soft.
Related to a handful of winners but pedigree suggests that he will need a good bit further in due course and is probably best watched on debut.
Cost just £1,500 at the Doncaster sales but hinted at ability on debut at Worcester. Found just the one pace near the finish, so is another that will possibly thrive when faced with a stiffer test.
Forecasts
Knight In Dubai (2/1), Djarkevi (10/3), Just Bobby (4/1), Manitowoc County (9/2), Delatite (12/1), Drums Of War (12/1), Mutawaasel (20/1), Whitmel (25/1), Ridgeway Pearl (80/1), Galley Grey (100/1)
An interesting Bumper to round off the card. The likes of Knight In Dubai, Manitowoc County, and Drums Of War certainly appeal as likely types for a race of this nature and have to merit a check in the betting. However, DJARKEVI looks to be another useful recruit from the Irish point-to-pointing scene and just edges the vote for a speculative interest in a race that may well prove to be a reliable yardstick.
- Djarkevi
- Knight In Dubai
- Manitowoc County
