Unexposed over hurdles but form in this sphere only modest up to now. Did win three times on the Flat during the summer but hurdling form far less impressive so far.
Claims only on the very pick of his form, which goes back to his time in Ireland. Efforts this season have been progressively moderate and the old boy now has a good bit to prove.
Slowly getting the hang of things and hinted that his turn isn't too far away with a near miss at Bangor at the start of last month. Raised 3lb for that effort, though, and needs find a little more. One to monitor closely in the betting.
Hard to assess what he achieved in a maiden hurdle last time out (on debut for his current yard). Very possible he has more to offer and could be an interesting contender; worth a betting check at least.
Fit from the Flat and has been kept ticking over in this sphere too. Not with much success though and makes limited appeal despite now being on a potentially handy mark.
Debuts for another new yard (fourth of 2017) and hard to fancy given the way he downed tools when last seen out. Too many questions to answer for a recommendation.
From probably much better than the recent finishing positions suggest. He's well into the veteran stage of his his career but has plenty of winning form, so possible he could turn on the style once more. (Notably 21lb below his last winning mark.)
Good value for the winning margin last time out and has stayed further than this in the past, so ought to handle the step up in trip. More to do from 9lb higher but still a leading contender in a weak race.
Won a couple of races last year and dangerously well handicapped on the pick of his form. Recent efforts do suggest he'll struggle to reverse form with Cherry Princess and Claude Carter, though.
Claims on the pick of her completed efforts and comes here on the back of one of better performances. Off-putting that she can throw in the odd stinker but has very little to find here and could easily make the frame if in the right frame of mind.
Failed to complete in six of his eight previous starts and not too difficult to overlook on this occasion.
Two and a half years since her last win under either code of racing and makes very limited appeal from a plummeting handicap mark.
Forecasts
Betancourt (7/2), Greenworldsolution (5/1), Gentleman James (11/2), Lady Vivona (11/2), Magnolia Ridge (8/1), Mr Globetrotter (12/1), Claude Carter (14/1), Cherry Princess (14/1), Rock N'stones (14/1), Heaven Scent (16/1), Anginola (40/1), Knockrea (66/1)
The weaker of the two divisions could go to CHERRY PRINCESS, who has the rare attribute of winning last time out and is hardly over faced in her attempt to brush off a 9lb higher mark. The veteran Claude Carter was in behind the selection last tie out and may well get close over this longer trip, while Greenworldsolution and Betancourt have potentially got more to offer and are a couple of others to bear in mind.
- Cherry Princess
- Claude Carter
- Greenworldsolution
