Seen to best effect at the end of last year when he landed a couple of AW nurseries off lower marks. Hasn't really clicked this year and failed to make any sort of impression when dropped into a claimer last time and easy to have doubts again.
Has done some remedial work to his win-to-runs ratio of late scoring back-to-back wins at Beverley in apprentice and amateur events over similar trips (testing ground both times). 8lb higher now on a different track but merits respect.
Not the easiest sort he's often pulled hard in his races and would be helped by a strong pace as he was last time when placed at Hamilton on heavy ground. Resides on his last winning mark but is just 1/14 and will prove a challenge for an apprentice.
Second on her last run for her former stable off a 3lb higher mark she's never really matched that in four runs for her current yard. Unproven on soft ground so far; best run so far came without the customary hood and that's left off today.
Unreliable and quirky sort who is inconsistent but has gone well for this rider in the past recording two wins for him this year one over 7f here. Won off a 2lb lower mark at Hamilton on his penultimate start (made all) but failed to follow that up last time.
Without a win this year but has on occasions run better than her finishing position suggests particularly at Hamilton (penultimate start). Travelled well and hampered there off a reduced mark; ran no sort of race last time and ground may prove too testing here.
A two-year losing run was ended at Beverley on his penultimate start with cheekpieces on for the first time when making all to score off a basement mark. Went off far too hard in follow-up run; a mile on soft ground could suit with a sensible ride.
Some hope was given that she may be able to get off the mark with a third at Hamilton in June (1m, soft). Failed to build on that though and now 0/14 and despite the drop to a more suitable trip he's hard to build a solid case for here.
Provided this rider with her first win when landing a shock win here over 7f earlier in the year in a weak race having been slow way. Often pulls way to hard in his races to do himself justice though and runs from out of the handicap here.
Hard to find much hope in his eight runs so far and he looks of very little account despite his pedigree suggesting he should do better (half-brother to plenty of winners). Well beaten over further last time out and has plenty to prove.

Forecasts
John Caesar (7/2), Ivors Involvement (4/1), Something Brewing (5/1), Ingleby Spring (13/2), Cliff Bay (7/1), Hellavashock (8/1), Twiggy (9/1), Dream Team (10/1), Rioja Day (11/1), Let Right Be Done (16/1), Chookie Valentine (40/1)
A workaday end to the card but a few have a chance and Ivors Involvement will be dangerous if he is given a sensible ride on the front end as he was when he won on his penultimate start; he could face competition from Rioja Day though. Ingleby Spring has shown that she is capable of winning a race and features off a lowly mark now under a rider she has gone well for in the past although the ground may be too much for her. Cliff Bay looks a tough ride for an apprentice although a strong pace would help him to settle and although JOHN CAESAR is 8lb higher than his last win and on a different course the race does set up well for him and after waiting ages for a win a hat-trick could be his for the taking.
- John Caesar
- Ivors Involvement
- Ingleby Spring
