A winner for Gordon Elliott earlier in the year over 2m on soft ground off a 10lb lower mark he failed to follow-up for that yard off higher marks. Showed very little (took no interest) on his first run for this new yard. Questions to answer now.

Another ex-Gordon Elliott inmate (unreliable for that yard) he appeared to show a little more for his switch to this yard last time (travelled smoothly). Not knocked about there and worth noting in the market for a positive move.

Fair if rather inconsistent over hurdles in the past she showed up relatively well on her fencing debut (point-to-point winner). That was up to the best of her hurdles form although the quirks were still there and not sure to build on that run.

Well backed on her first run for this yard (not unusual) he took advantage of a drop in the weights to score at Newton Abbot. Looked well-in under a penalty but failed to follow-up (race came too soon) and now back from a break.

Debuts for this yard having one standout effort to his name in Ireland over 2m in first-time blinkers and tongue strap (used forcing tactics). Failed to match that effort next time and comes here off the back of a poor first Flat run.

Dictated the pace last time when down to around this trip (went with zest) and only beaten by an improving sort (well handicapped). Gone a long time without a win but a repetition of his last run at Kelso will put him right in the picture here.

His form over hurdles was fair without recording a win but did show ability and he made a promising start to his chasing career. Failed to build on that though and a beaten favourite twice; back from a break now with tongue-tie utilised for the first time.

Forecasts

Bramble Brook (11/8), The Geegeez Geegee (3/1), Leanna Ban (5/1), Aunty Ann (6/1), Riverside City (10/1), Patricks Park (20/1), Holeinthewall Bar (100/1)

Verdict

LEANNA BAN deserves to win a win a race and under a positive ride he may well be able to accomplish that feat after his sound effort at Kelso last time. The Geegeez Geegee still looks well handicapped and should be able to make a race of things especially given that his race may well have come too soon last time out and he looks the main danger. A market positive for Riverside City should be noted with Bramble Brook having always looked to have been capable of better than he’s shown; maybe the break and a first-time tongue tie will have a positive effect.
  1. Leanna Ban
  2. The Geegeez Geegee
  3. Riverside City
