Held in two starts since finishing third on soft ground over 2m7f at Exeter in February. Latest of those came in Grade 1 company and is an interesting runner on chasing debut.
Registered a handicap hurdle double over this trip at Haydock earlier this year and ran well in a Grade 3 contest at Aintree (good) over an extended 3m in April. Makes his chase debut following a break today.
Winner over this trip over hurdles and just touched off in a four runner novice chase over C&D on debut in this sphere in May. Disappointed here the following month and something to prove following that.
Finished runner-up over C&D in July but well beaten at Cartmel (good-to-soft) over an extended 3m1f back over hurdles subsequently. Interesting to see how he fares today.
Successful twice from four starts over hurdles but disappointed when pulled up in a Grade 1 event at Aintree (good) in April. Yard are in flying form at present (4/8) and he wears a hood for today's chase debut.
Winner twice over hurdles last autumn and ran well in handicap company to finish runner-up in two subsequent outings. Latest of those came off a mark of 129 at Doncaster (good) in February.
Winner twice over hurdles and made the first two on all five starts since joining this stable. Ran well over 3m1f at Warwick (good) in April and an interesting runner today.
Forecasts
Ballymalin (7/4), Monbeg Charmer (10/3), Knight Of Noir (7/1), Dadsintrouble (7/1), Thumb Stone Blues (8/1), Some Kinda Lama (12/1), Kelvingrove (16/1)
Trainer Charlie Longsdon is in excellent form currently and his MONBEG CHARMER can make a winning chase debut over 2m7f today. The selection ran to a decent level over hurdles and while he disappointed when upped in grade this point-to-point winner is likely to be better over fences. Ballymalin ran well in a Grade 1 contest the selection was pulled up in in last time out and this four time hurdles winner can claim third on chase debut while Knight Of Noir, who has four chase outings to his name already can take third.
- Monbeg Charmer
- Ballymalin
- Knight Of Noir
