Former C&D winner was a bit below form fourth of 10 here over 1m2½f a week ago. Cheekpieces back on now and not ruled out.
Maiden winner over 1m2f at Navan in 2014 but not added to it since. Effort at Cork in May over 1m4f would give him claims here.
Four-time winner around here at up to 1m2½f, good third over that trip last week and stays this far no trouble. Has to be on any shortlist.

Mare won over C&D in March off a mark of 75 and has scored twice on turf since, back up in trip now having run poor race at the Curragh last time out.
C&D winner in November last off a mark of 82, is 4lb higher for this but has useful claimer to offset the burden. Not been in great form over hurdles recently but could bounce back.
Fourth of 7 in handicap at Roscommon (1m 2½f, heavy) earlier this month. Makes polytrack debut this evening and worth a look in the betting.
Former course winner and ran well enough last time out the Curragh over 1m2f having not enjoyed much luck over hurdles this year. Longer trip to suit now.
Still a maiden on the Flat but has only had three goes. Unexposed over this trip and should give a good account.
Won over 1m2f at Naas in July, back up in trip and has scope to get involved in the finish of this contest.
Has shown some promise in maidens on turf, not ruled out with any degree of certainty making AW bow but did struggle this mark in sole handicap to date over 1m2½f at Gowran Park.
Forecasts
Spruce Meadows (2/1), Jaqen H'ghar (4/1), Political Policy (7/1), Eagle Spirit (7/1), Wooster (8/1), Mainicin (9/1), Felix Mendelssohn (14/1), Mountain Rock (16/1), My Direction (20/1), Maudlin Magdalen (25/1), Nanabad (28/1)
Former C&D winner MAINICIN is on career-high mark now but the mare scored on her penultimate start at Leopardstown with plenty up her sleeve, coming away to win by 5½L last month. She flopped next time at the Curragh but a mitigating factor there might have been the three days between runs. She could well bounce back and give this a real push. Plenty here will have chances if producing their best with Jaqen H'ghar and My Direction both C&D winners and Maudlin Magdalen boasting winning form. Handicap debutant Mountain Rock is also worth considering.
- Mainicin
- My Direction
- Mountain Rock
