Scored here last year (7f) and acquitted himself well in two good handicaps in the spring when the yard were not really firing. One to consider here with the stable in better shape and using this rider to good effect (5-22 this year).
Beat the useful Anythingtoday at Windsor and a line through that rival gives an implied edge over Emenem. Gave the impression he could be better than a handicapper in time so one to note in the market.
Has three wins and two seconds on this surface whilst improving greatly on turf lately. Finished third to Defoe in July and most recently finished runner-up in a valuable Goodwood handicap. Those efforts have rightly earned him a career high mark.
Won two AW contests in 2016 and went down in a photo for a Listed event. Has faced some stiff tasks this term but appeared to be finding his level here three weeks ago. Looks interesting.
Two victories and two placed efforts have all come on the all-weather (Polytrack and Tapeta). Third in a similar race over C&D last time and not out of this from 1lb higher. Rider won on him here in July and stable took this in 2016.
Dug deep to score in first time cheekpieces at Doncaster and now has blinkers fitted. The second and third have scored since so a 3lb rise should be comfortable. Proven on AW surfaces so hard to overlook.
Wide margin winner of his maiden and bumped into well-handicapped horses on his next two starts. Last run was bitterly disappointing and the handicapper has cut him no slack.
Admirably tough and consistent sort who was involved in a three-way photo here three weeks ago. The race was not run to suit and the effort should not be undervalued. Up in class but if running to his usual level he will not be far away.
Looks exposed in this company with a record of 2-13 and having underperformed lately. Rider 4-11 for the stable but others are more more appealing.
Handicapper took a dim view of his Bath success in July. Best effort since came in an unsatisfactory four-runner event and his mark probably has further to fall.
Forecasts
Intrepidly (3/1), Bush House (7/2), Alfarris (4/1), Al Hamdany (7/1), Emenem (7/1), Stone The Crows (17/2), Total Star (12/1), Ray's The Money (16/1), Koeman (20/1), X Rated (25/1)
This race looks wide open with most having just cause to take this. In most cases the handicapper is probably up with events but INTREPIDLY beat a rival at Windsor who has franked the form a few times since. Jeremy Noseda's has been patient with him and he has left an impression he may prove better than this in due course. Bush House, Koeman, Emenem and Alfaaris are holding their form well but all face career high marks. Al Hamdany has dropped to a realistic level judged on his latest performance and goes well on this surface. Total Star shoulders topweight but this looks easier than his two races from earlier this year and he is another to consider.
- Intrepidly
- Al Hamdany
- Total Star
