Has to be of interest having gone to a yard that is on the up-and-up although he didn't need to be at his best to win a C&D claimer last time. This track suits his prominent style of racing and another bold display is expected back in a handicap.

Ran well enough in a C&D maiden earlier in the year when he was third and has won over 6f here (made all). Shaped better than his final placing at Chester last time (drawn wide) and respected here if drawn a little wide again.

Knows his way around here and has two C&D wins to his name the last of those coming on seasonal debut and his overall record here reads 152214. Should be capable off this mark but looks to be just ticking over at the moment and others make more appeal.

Still a maiden and although he should have improved for the switch to this yard he's not really done so in his two starts so far. Slips a further few pounds here in the handicap but it may take a little more before he comes to life.

From a yard having a good season he was a winner here in July seemingly relishing the soft ground having hinted at a revival the time before. Has fared poorly since then the higher mark appearing to have him held at the moment (blinkers back on now).

Appears to like this track which suits him when he is allowed to front run although all his wins have come over shorter as was seen last time out. Still looks well treated on his old form although this is tougher on trip and draw grounds.

Back-to-back wins in the summer over this trip came off lowly marks and not been able to match that form since even when tried over further last time on heavy ground. Has experience around here but this mark may prove to be the stopper.

Really only his third maiden run that would be of any interest in a form context having run poorly on his debut for the yard and now steps into handicaps for the first time. The mark doesn't look that generous and he's easily bypassed.

New headgear tried this time with a tongue-tie joining the cheekpieces that have been tried before. He's looked in reasonable form this year although he did disappoint on the AW last time and returns to turf here.

Tried over a variety of trips he's not really looking as though he is in any sort of form and has never really threatened the leaders in any of his runs. Has run over this C&D before but hard to see him winning this.

Verdict

Most of the fancied players in this like to go from the front and it will be interesting to see if they all go forward and stick to their normal runs styles and run the risk of a pace collapse. Bold Spirit certainly always looks better from the front but this 7f trip may stretch him and BERNIE’S BOY running for Iain Jardine for the first time is given the nod after his claiming win here last time returning to handicaps. Chickenfortea ran far better than his finishing position last time and if he stays this 7f and can overcome another awkward draw he would be of interest Carlovian may put his experience round here to good use and Tanawar is another with course form who can always pop up with a good performance with Ginger Love one to note stepping up in trip making his second handicap start.
