Raised 5lb for taking an extended 1m Beverley handicap by 2L late last month (beat Election Day). That was her second career success on the Westwood, but with previous Wolverhampton AW also form in the book, she could well follow up.
Won twice on the AW in France as a three-year-old, but slow to find her feet since switched to these shores. Beaten ¾L by Pensax Boy on her penultimate start at Wolverhampton (1m+), so claims if the cheek-pieces can help extricate more.
Comfortable winner of a 1m Chepstow fillies maiden in June (good to firm), but wouldn't appear startlingly well handicapped from her current mark. Reliable and tends to run her race, but others look that little bit stronger. Tapeta debut.
Well related Nottingham maiden winner (1m+ August 2016), but has proved a disappointment since then (1m to 1m2f) and is fast running out of excuses. Falling marginally in the weights and now tries the AW route for the first time.
Seven race maiden who has seemingly slowly lost her way after a reasonable start to the year. The handicapper has eased her a couple of pounds since finishing fifth at Wolverhampton last month, and the tongue tie now accompanies cheek-pieces.
Kept to maiden company down south thus far and probably didn't fully see out the 1m trip at Newbury in June. However, she's possibly stronger now and ran well over a shorter trip at Kempton latest (1¼L runner up to Euqranian).
Posted a moderate effort at Carlisle last month when 11th of 13 to Thornaby Nash (1m good to soft), which was disappointing given his success at that track in June. High in the weights, hence the use of this 7lb claimer.
Beat Rinaria (giving away 3lb) by ¾L when making a winning debut at Wolverhampton in March (1m½f), but failed to beat a single rival on her next two starts on turf. Better on the AW latest (behind Carol), and the cheek-pieces are applied tonight.
A three time course winner (twice over C&D), but those successes came in much weaker contests than this, and she finished last of 13 over C&D to Auspicion earlier in the month. On a tough handicap mark and not one for tonight.
Forecasts
Vanity Queen (2/1), Ibazz (5/1), Rinaria (5/1), Carol (13/2), Deleyla (9/1), Alouja (11/1), Hidden Charms (14/1), Full Of Promise (20/1), Table Manners (33/1)
RINARIA has gone forward since being beaten by Hidden Charms at Wolverhampton in March, and with the David Simcock trained filly heading in the opposite direction, she can be fancied to gain her revenge tonight despite the noticeably worse terms. She is unbeaten in two starts on the Westwood at Beverley, but evidently also handles Tapeta, and is likely to be suited by the stiff uphill finish at Newcastle. Of the others Deleyla is another good ride for David Egan, but she looks strongest at 7f, whilst Vanity Queen switches to the AW for the first time, and being a half-sister to the classy Volume ought to have built upon her Nottingham maiden success (August 2016) by now.
- Rinaria
- Vanity Queen
- Deleyla
