Kodiac colt, cost £50,000 as a yearling. Half-brother to 6f winner Made Of Honour. Seemingly unfancied when winning his maiden at Goodwood last month and that form well advertised since. Likely to take another step forward and should be thereabouts.

Justified short-price favouritism at Haydock on debut and not beaten far last time at Salisbury. That form probably the best on offer here and should run well again under a penalty.

25/1
Camelot colt, cost 90,000 gns as a yearling. Half-brother to Group 2 winner Porsenna and Listed winner over this trip Basileus. Yard not known for their first time out winners but he has a nice pedigree and any market support should be noted.

Dawn Approach colt, cost 44,000 gns as a foal and 175,000 gns as a yearling. Half-brother to two winners and dam a winner over this trip. Yard capable with newcomers and respected for powerful connections on debut.
Sea The Stars colt, half-brother to five winners including Group 3 winners Beauty O' Gwaun and Cosmo Meadow. Entered in a Group 2 at the end of the month and good chance he's above average. Market likely to reveal expectations.

Improving sort who lost his maiden tag in a match race at Brighton before a respectable runner-up at Goodwood towards the end of last month. Front two pulled 5L clear that day so no surprise to see him carry on improving here.

Sallab25

9/1
Epsom winner on second start before finding Group company too tough last time out. Refused to settle at Chepstow last time and won't get away with such antics here, in what rates as a much deeper contest.

Forecasts

White Mocha (13/8), Macaque (3/1), Bon Scotte (4/1), Sallab (9/1), Khazaf (9/1), Candidate (25/1), Knight To Behold (33/1)

Verdict

It's entirely possible this contest will come down to experience and WHITE MOCHA may be hard to beat after a pair of impressive runs. Bon Scotte was impressive on debut and ought to improve with Ryan Moore taking over in the saddle. The newcomers in the line-up have nice pedigrees and Knight To Behold has some eye-catching big race entries. The Sea The Stars colt will likely be better over further but this looks a fair starting point and may run well.
