Seven race maiden who was once based in Ireland with Stuart Crawford and beaten by the useful Lake View Lad at Ayr in January 2016. Off the track for 18 months and makes his handicap debut for a new trainer.
A winner for Oliver Sherwood, and has some reasonable form from marks up to 120 during 2015. Lost his way for that trainer and showed little on stable debut in August 2016 (cost £14,000) and worryingly has been missing since.
Surprise winner at Perth in July (20/1), and probably better than the bare result when seeking to follow up under a 4lb rise at Bangor early last month. Far from a frequent winner, but conditions/track ideal for front running tactics.
Seven race maiden, but has shown ability in both bumpers and over hurdles. Soft ground was probably against her latest, but her previous Perth second to Man Look has a solid feel, and she was beaten a neck in a bumper here in May 2017. Handicap bow.
His sole career success came over C&D from an 8lb higher mark in May 2015 (good); beating Apachee Prince by ¾L. Lost his way thereafter and absent since October 2016. Returns wearing a tongue tie with the suspicion being he's had 'wind' treatment.
A nine time career winner (six hurdles successes) who generally proves competitive from marks in the mid 90's, so it was no surprise he returned to form at Cartmel in late August from a mark of 87 (beat Snowed In by 4L). Possibilities.
Goes well at Catterick, but has been in decent enough shape over the summer at Cartmel. Beaten 4L by Baraboy last month, but renews rivalry on better terms with hopes that a reversal could be on the cards.
Lightly raced, but fair to say her form doesn't amount to all that much. Well beaten when falling at the last over 2m6f here in April (soft), and a shorter trip could help but improvement is needed on handicap debut.
Can take a fierce grip, but has gradually improved since joining this yard, finishing runner up on each of his last two starts at Sedgefield and Uttoxeter. Every likelihood this track will suit his style and a clear chance in a moderate contest
Ten race maiden who has regressed since a fair hurdles debut at Perth in April 2016. No impression in similar company back there latest, and looks challenging to build any sort of case for whatsoever.
Well suited by forcing tactics when winning in first time cheek-pieces at Cartmel in early July (2m6f good). Beaten from this mark by subsequent Worcester winner Dotties Dilemma since and won't get all his own way up front tonight.
Old timer who seemingly retains the zest for racing, but hasn't had the required attributes to quite get on terms since his return from a break of late. Easing in the weights, and his latest Hexham effort is working out fairly well.
Nine race maiden who had shown little prior to finishing a distant 18L second to Hint Of Grey in a Hexham novices hurdle in May (2m good), and there must be every chance that showing flatters her slightly.
1-61 under rules says plenty and although this mare can throw in a reasonable run from time-to-time, she's hardly one to enthuse over and is yet to taste success under jumps rules.
Looked of fairly limited ability when trained by Lucinda Russell, and returned for her stable debut from a mammoth 2½ year absence at Sedgefield last month (ninth of 14). Plenty to find with Bohernagore and Baraboy and makes little appeal.
Veteran who is an 18 time career winner and has a bit of an affinity with Cartmel, but has shown precious little since winning there over fences in May. Very tough to fancy despite a much lower hurdles mark than over fences.
Forecasts
Bohernagore (7/4), Oh So Gigolo (7/1), Snowed In (10/1), Sense Of Urgency (10/1), Baraboy (12/1), Endeavor (14/1), Make It Happen (16/1), Just Chilly (16/1), Wot A Shot (16/1), Claude Carter (18/1), Topham Bay (20/1), Nendrum (20/1), Lucarno Dancer (22/1), Romulus Du Donjon (25/1), Outlaw Josey Wales (28/1), Bygones For Coins (33/1)
A big field of fairly moderate handicap hurdlers, and a race in which it's best advised to give a swerve. The one certainty however is that there will be plenty of pace on offer with Uttoxeter runner up Bohernagore, Perth winner Wot A Shot and Cartmel scorer Oh So Gigolo among the likeliest candidates to go forward having already proved themselves as well suited to employing forcing tactics. Therefore, although this sharp track tends to suit front runners, the suspicion is that the pace might be an overly generous one, so a runner who can lie up close enough to the pace, and be produced from the final hurdle might be likeliest to prevail. The unexposed mare SENSE OF URGENCY could well fit that bill best and break her duck on her handicap debut for Lucy Normille in a low grade contest.
- Sense Of Urgency
- Wot A Shot
- Snowed In
