Thrived for his new stable, winning twice on decent ground at Stratford (2m2½f) and Market Rasen (2m4½f), but carries a double penalty as a result. Lost little in defeat over further at Cartmel latest when beaten a nose by Boy In A Bentley.
50,000 gns purchase off the Flat (from Andrew Balding) and has already made his mark over hurdles, winning twice over shorter trips at Sedgefield and Perth. Beaten by a solid rival in the shape of Gibson Park at Sedgefield latest and now up in trip.
Has joined current connections for £32,000 since landing the odds by 18L in a Uttoxeter bumper in July (for Gordon Elliott). Full brother to Jonjo O'Neill's Listen and Learn and recent Hexham scorer Lilywhite Gesture. Scope to progress now hurdling.
Made a pleasing start when a 4L runner up to Bestiarius in a Newcastle bumper in March 2016 (heavy), but a well beaten favourite on both hurdles starts (not fluent). Off since December 2016, and surely better to come in the future.
Ballyarthur Point-to-Point winner (April 2015) who made a reasonable start for new connections (€32,000) when hitting the frame in a Perth bumper and Hexham novices hurdle. However, off the track for almost two years since, so likely to need a race.
Won just once in 23 career starts (over 2m4f at Sedgefield in April), and whilst producing a fair effort at this track in May (2m6f handicap hurdle); beaten 1L by Notnow Seamus, is unlikely to be competitive in this company on these terms.
Ex Irish (Margaret Mullins). Has appeared fairly limited over hurdles thus far, but put in an improved effort at Hexham last month (2m7f+ good) when beaten 9L by What Happens Now, with the third placed horse Ebony Rose being a subsequent winner.
Off the mark at the 13th attempt over hurdles at Southwell in June (2m4½f good), and has won again since from a 4lb higher mark on her most recent start at Market Rasen (2m2½f). Back into novice company tonight.
Not shown all that much ability in four starts in bumpers since June and needs to up her game considerably now switched to hurdles for the first time.
Very modest on the Flat (six race maiden who is rated just 38), and unsurprisingly wasn't in the hunt after lacking any real fluency on her hurdles debut at Perth last week (2m good).
Forecasts
Sweet Holly (2/1), Mizen Master (11/4), Man Look (11/2), Blakerigg (6/1), Arizona Bound (11/1), Celtic Flames (18/1), Luso Benny (20/1), Louloumills (40/1), Shesthebusiness (100/1), Nuova Scuola (300/1)
MIZEN MASTER has proved himself a totally different proposition since joining Olly Murphy, and despite carrying a double penalty for his Stratford and Market Rasen gains, his official rating of 130 strongly implies that he should be able to notch a third career success. Man Look is the most obvious danger given his official rating and current form, but he does have stamina to prove over this longer trip, at an admittedly straightforward course and on decent ground.
- Mizen Master
- Man Look
- Arizona Bound
