An infrequent winner; sole success for Ger Lyons at the Curragh in August 2015 (1m good), but ran well when beaten a neck by Thello over C&D in February (from a 5lb higher mark). Not at his best in May/June, but back from a break.

A ten time winner on turf from 63 starts, and dropping in the weights having been well out of his depth over 2m at York latest. Yet to prove himself on synthetics, and tries the AW route for the first time since November 2016.

Lightly raced, but joined this yard cheaply (£4,000) after just a single start for Godolphin. Not convinced in handicaps thus far, but has fallen 9lb in the weights and tries a new trip. Down in class, so market potentially informative.

A six time career winner between 1m1f and 1m4f, but another to have been relatively quiet for a while. Didn't appear to get home over 1m4f here earlier in the month, and one to have reservations about at present.

Narrow 7f Brighton maiden winner in October 2016, but had broadly struggled in handicaps until cut some some slack and stepped up to this trip at Yarmouth in early August (1L runner up to Free Forum). Never involved at Beverley latest.

Runner up over 7f here in June to Pastime (solid since) and finally broke the duck at the tenth attempt over 1m1f at Carlisle last month (won by a neck). Up 2lb which is fair, but slight reservations stamina wise at this stiff track.

Dead-heated with Log Off on his last AW start over the extended 1m1f at Wolverhampton in April. Less competitive on turf in three starts since, but possibly didn't stay 1m4f, and better back on synthetics from a reasonable mark.

Lacks experience, but probably needed her first run back from an eight month break at Haydock in early August (handicap debut). Never nearer over the extended mile when fourth at Wolverhampton subsequently, so of definite interest now upped in trip.

Not won since making all over 1m at Musselburgh in May 2016, and generally saves his best efforts for that East Lothian track (three time runner up there since). Stamina also looks a concern over this trip, but slipping in the weights.

Runner up at odds of 66/1 on Tapeta at Wolverhampton (1m1½f) on his penultimate start last month, but didn't appear to stay when upped to 1m3½f at Bath latest. Seven race maiden who is drawn widest of all.

Dark Angel gelding who is yet to make an impact in maidens after three quick runs over the course of a month between mid July and August. Switches to the AW for handicap debut and upped in trip, but best watched.

Recorded a second career success when taking an apprentices handicap at Nottingham in late July (1m2f good to soft). Posted a similar effort next time, but a distant last of 12 at Hamilton latest, and poor on the AW in both career starts.

Not progressed since a fair debut effort (albeit well beaten), but disconcerting that she's been absent since mid April and that cheek-pieces are sought for her handicap debut. Goes beyond 1m for the first time.

Verdict

Division 1 of a low grade 1m2f handicap. Restive doesn't win too often, but could be suited by the ease in grade (tries a Class 6 for the first time), and he showed he handles this C&D well enough when a neck second to Thello in February. Secret Soul is likely to race prominently and could have a role to play if allowed to dictate a steady pace, but she's not exactly known for hanging tough on the front end, whilst Wolverhampton winner London Master and more recent Carlisle scorer Savannah Moon could be thereabouts. However, the selection is the lightly raced filly CHAMPAGNE PINK. She needs to show more, but is of definite interest from a lowly mark now stepped up in trip after posting a never nearer fourth to Jack Of Diamonds over the extended mile at Wolverhampton just over a week ago.
  1. Champagne Pink
  2. Restive
  3. London Master
