Three time winner over middle distances but has raced on the Flat only once so far this season, when finishing tailed off over much further. Fit from that effort and interesting to see how he does down in trip.
Unexposed type who got off the mark on her seasonal reappearance at Redcar last time. Previous attempt at this trip was probably her poorest race to date but that may have been as much to do with the ground.
Well-beaten in his attempt for a four-timer at Chester last time but didn't seem to stay 2m and now only 4lb higher than at the time of his most recent victory; not ruled out on return to 1m4f.
No win since October 2015 but has only had four runs since. Needs to bounce back to his best form now in a first time tongue strap and others hold more convincing claims.
Has run well in better races than this and should have more to offer over this trip; encouraging to see cheek pieces applied given the occasional quirks he has shown in his races.
Has scarcely run a poor race so far this year and still seems to be on a workable handicap mark after a maiden victory last time. Return to 1m4f should help and ground should suit.
Wolverhampton maiden winner and ran a fair race on handicap debut at this venue last time out. Up in trip now and remains unexposed, but his best run to date will be needed off the same mark.
C&D winner earlier in the summer who ran well over hurdles at Cartmel when last seen in August and has something to prove off this mark back on the Flat but still retains potential.
Two-time winner, including over this trip, but seems better on the all-weather and probably not as well weighted as some of his rivals here.
Forecasts
Ya Jammeel (10/3), Sable Island (7/2), See Of Rome (9/2), Time To Blossom (11/2), Fools And Kings (8/1), Murgan (11/1), Knight Destroyer (12/1), Earthly (16/1), Argus (20/1)
Sir Michael Stoute's SABLE ISLAND has been in fine form so far this year and should be capable of defying the 2lb rise from her last good showing in handicap company. He has won a maiden since and may still be improving, so on ground he clearly handles he should be the one to beat. Time To Blossom should also go well up 6lb from a Redcar handicap victory last time out, while See Of Rome may well improve for the application of cheek pieces for the first time.
