Not at his best since moving to Britain and behind Champagne Champ at Nottingham last time out. Previously had good form in India and Dubai though and would have claims if rediscovering that.

Champagne Champ30
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-0| J: Oisin Murphy| T: B R Millman| OR:  89| CD
7/2
C&D winner who has been running well in some better races than this recently. This could prove to be his easiest assignment for some time, though he does look a little high in the handicap.

Rolling Maul36
Age: 9|  Weight: 9-10| J: Joshua Bryan(5)| T: P & M Bowen| OR:  85| CD
7/4
Useful performer over jumps who is 3/3 since start off on the Flat. Up another 6lb here but is progressing well on the level and has conditions to suit here. Possible he could improve past his handicap mark again.

Much better towards the beginning of the season rather than since then, return to turf should help but still has plenty to find.

Age: 6|  Weight: 8-11| J: William Cox(7)| T: B J Llewellyn| OR:  72
18/1
Dual-purpose performer who has been much better over obstacles that on the level recently; trainer would appear to hold some concerns about his ability to operate on a soft surface.

Look My Way22
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-8| J: David Probert| T: A M Balding| OR:  79
6/4
Beaten by Rolling Maul at Newmarket two starts ago, slightly better off at the weights now but not enough to suggest he will be able to reverse form; could be following him home once again.

Forecasts

Look My Way (6/4), Rolling Maul (7/4), Champagne Champ (7/2), Desert God (8/1), Norab (18/1), Shades of Silver (25/1)

Verdict

It has been very interesting to see the form ROLLING MAUL has been able to produce on the Flat since he started off running on the level earlier in the year. This useful chaser has won each of his three starts so far and left the impression that there could be more to come, and though versataile ground-wise his very best form seems to be on a softer surface. He can see off C&D winner Champagne Champ, who has far from disgraced himself recently, and Look My Way, who he recently beat at Newmarket.
  1. Rolling Maul
  2. Champagne Champ
  3. Look My Way
