88,000 gns yearling. Half-brother to winners Alessandro Volta (1m1f Listed at two/1m3½f Group 3), Dylanesque (6f at two) and Venture Capitalist (2m AW). Dam an unraced half-sister to 1m2f Group 3 winner Poet. Market check suggested.
The most experience runner in the line-up, though yet to win from three starts. Beaten just ½L at Chepstow (good) when upped to this trip last time out. Should go well although clearly also vulnerable.
€35,000 yearling. Half-brother to two winners over 7f AW/1m2f. Dam a 1m AW winner at two and half-sister to Listed winners Oasis Dancer (6f AW) and Smart Enough (1m). Stable 3-50 with turf juveniles this term, so perhaps best watched on debut.
€1,100,000 purchase as a foal. Half-brother to four winners including Zhukova (1m2f-1m4f inc. US Grade 1) and New Year's Knight (1m½f-1m6f AW), out of Irish 1,000 Guineas winner. Bred in the purple and looks set to make a decent debut.
900,000 gns yearling. Full-brother to 6f two-year-old winner Wednaan, closely-related to a 1m2f winner and half-brother three winners, including French 1m4f Listed. Dam a 7f-1m winner (inc. Group 3). Interesting debutante and one to note.
€60,000 yearling. Half-brother to six winners including Titus Mills (7f Listed at two), Sniper (7f at two) and Sand Tiger (7f-1m1f). Dam an unraced daughter of Fillies' Mile winner Aqarid. Another to note in the market and could show up well.
Helmet colt, cost 52,000 gns as a yearling and half-brother to Rafiqa and dam granddaughter of Listed winner Hamaliya. 50-1 and beaten 8½L at York (7f, good) on debut last month. Can step up on that this time.
Champs Elysees colt out of a mare who was a winner over 7f at three. 25-1 and ran with some promise when 7½L fourth on debut at Goodwood (1m, good to soft) earlier in the month. Could improve significantly for that and well worth a market check.
30,000 gns yearling. Half-brother to four winners from 7f-1m5f, the best being Silver Grecian (7f-1m inc. Group 2 at two). Dam a once-raced daughter of a 6f/7f winner. Stable has much improved 21% strike rate (3-14) with turf juveniles this season.
Went to 105,000 gns but not sold as a yearling. Full-brother to 1m/1m2f winner Kullu. Half-brother to useful winners over 1m4f and 7f (at two). Dam a 1m2f winner who stayed 1m4f. Last year's winning trainer/jockey combi. Should give a good account.

Ghaiyyath (6/5), Ace Ventura (13/2), Tiffin Top (7/1), Sherzy Boy (15/2), Military Law (8/1), Sha La La La Lee (10/1), Blue Laureate (16/1), Hyanna (33/1), Thunderhooves (40/1), Quantatmental (66/1), Dagueneau (80/1)
The last four winners of this race have been single figure prices and had had the benefit of at least one run and, while at one time it was a good race for debutantes, the last such winner was in 2012. With that in mind it could be prudent to side with SHERZY BOY. Richard Hannon knows the sort of ability required to win this having been involved with two of the last 10 winners when his father still held a training licence. The colt's debut was promising and pedigree suggests that he should act on this softer ground, so he gets the vote. Ghaiyyath and Military Law were both huge purchases and could be anything, while Tiffin Top and Ace Ventura are others to note in the market. Blue Laureate is also respected, though he has already placed a few cards on the table.
- Sherzy Boy
- Ghaiyyath
- Tiffin Top
