Below best at Galway last time out having ended last term with poor show in Irish Grand National, stiff task carrying top weight in prevailing ground now.
Get a first-time tongue tie for this, a high-class performer at his best but now ten-years-old and quite some time since he's shown his best stuff.
Doesn't have a lot of miles on the clock and capable of going well in this environment, ran solid race in the Galway Plate when last spotted and should give a strong account once again.
Behind a few of these in the Galway Plate, but turned out again quickly to win four days later at Ballybrit in early August. Has to go on the shortlist for this representing champion trainer/jockey.
Very consistent mare has three wins from seven over fences, came out best of these in the Galway Plate in third and commands a good deal of respect.
Winner of previous two starts over fences in Britain and switches here after solid effort last time over hurdles. Interesting contender from leading British yard and worth considering.
Didn't enjoy Aintree but went well for a long way in the Irish National, first start since but has been aimed at this and goes well around this track (winner over shorter). Should handle 3m and can run a big race.
Not at his best over fences this year in three runs, couldn't be completely ignored on a good day but may not be suited by what is set to be testing ground.
Fine effort to win here already this week over 2m5f, up in trip and raised 5lb for that success, this demands another career-best to score again.
Extremely consistent performer, out of the money just twice in 14 career starts, scored again last month at Tramore, beating Bentelimar by 8L. Should be right in the mix.
Raised 6lb for last time out win at Killarney over shorter trip, knows how to win but suspicion there'll be a few in his big field to halt him.
Raised 6lb for last time out win at Killarney over shorter trip, knows how to win but suspicion there'll be a few in his big field to halt him.
Winner over this sort of trip at Ayr in November last off a mark of 132, poor in two runs early this year but tends to go well fresh and yard are in form. On the shortlist.
Has won around here this time last year, having first start in a handicap chase and could threaten the places if ready to go fitness-wise after just one run this year.
Poor over hurdles when last out at Galway, switches to chasing once more and has something to prove on form. Others make more appeal.
Couple of unseats on his record for this yard, along with a no-show at Naas back in January but more recently he easily won a beginners chase at Kilbeggan last month over 2m4f, handicap chase debut now, worth paying attention to in betting.
Has three wins from five outings over fences, finished 30L behind Kylecrue at this track earlier in the week over much shorter trip and hard to be confident even with extra distance in favour.
Down to make handicap chase debut, heavy ground ranks as a concern and doesn't appear to be on a lenient mark (Second Reserve).

The mare Slowmotion has been a model of consistency over fences for connections and looks sure to put up another bold bid for this prize. She has yet to finish out of the money over fences when staying upright and finished best of these in the Galway Plate last month. Arbre De Vie was perhaps unfortunate in that race and made no mistake back at Ballybrit for the quick follow-up, he could have much more to offer in this sphere. Potters Point and A Toi Phil should be involved at the business end while Stellar Notion, who went well for a long way in the Irish National is worth considering at a big price. Tempestatefloresco is respected for Tizzard team but fellow British raider VIVA STEVE goes well fresh and can give this a real push from just a 4lb higher mark than when scoring last November at Ayr for a yard currently going well.
- Viva Steve
- Slowmotion
- Stellar Notion
