Not at all convinced in four starts, including on nursery debut at Chester early last month. Gelded, wears cheek-pieces for the first time and steps up in trip to 7f seeking something more.

6,500 gns yearling who has been fairly highly tried, and this nursery debut represents an easier option. Probably didn't stay 1m at Haydock latest, but this 7f trip is also a stiff test and he needs to settle in order to see it out.

Foxy Lady12
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-6| J: Joe Doyle| T: K A Ryan| OR:  59

Beaten about 4L on her nursery debut at Musselburgh last month (7f good to firm) when fourth to the improving Kikini Bamalaam. Dropped 1lb which is a slight surprise and could well be involved if taking to this new surface.

Made little impact in any of his three outings so far (5f, 6f and 7f). However, starts off life in nurseries on a reasonable mark as a result, and blinkers are now applied for the first time.

Beaten about 3½L when fourth of ten to Flo's Melody in a 6f seller at Ripon last month, which was clearly his best effort to date. Should be fine over this extra furlong, but whether he's good enough is another matter.

Mid-division finishes over shorter trips so far. Steps up to 7f for her nursery debut, and hails from a dam (Dama'A) who herself was a winner on synthetics.

Bounced back from being pulled up at Catterick in July to take a 6f seller on her next start at Redcar in mid August. That race wasn't the strongest, and she was beaten in a Musselburgh nursery latest (7f).

Finished in the rear division on all three starts so far (never beyond 6f). However, this probably represents a much better opportunity for her (lower grade). Handicap debut.

Data Link filly who has left Mark Johnston for £6,500 since her last appearance at Ripon in mid August. Not shown anything in three career starts, and best overlooked on stable and AW debut.

Finished just in front of Society's Dream when fourth to Placebo Effect at Musselburgh (7f) last month. Feasible that she'll find a small race with time (possibly a claimer) but others look stronger at present.

Poor, beating only one rival in three previous attempts. Stable knows what is takes to saddle AW winners at this track, but the application of a first time visor for handicap bow is nowhere near enough to tempt one into following this gelding.

Forecasts

Foxy Lady (7/2), Society's Dream (5/1), Crown Of Cortez (6/1), What Do You Think (6/1), Admiral Spice (7/1), Duggary (15/2), Ladycammyofclare (11/1), Racing Radio (18/1), American Ruby (28/1), Stark Reality (33/1), Partry Flyer (50/1)

Verdict

Much like in Division 1 half an hour earlier, there's not a great deal of obvious strength in depth on offer, so this contest is somewhat of a guessing game as to which of the runners is going to take a significant step forward. Crown Of Cortez kicks off life in nurseries from a reasonable mark, but in reality needs the blinkers to have a significant positive effect, whilst the gelding operation of Admiral Spice also needs to generate a similar result. Therefore, with FOXY LADY having already shown a glimmer of improvement when fourth to the mildly progressive Kikini Bamalaam at Musselburgh latest, she's the tentative rather than the confident play in a low grade contest.
  1. Foxy Lady
  2. What Do You Think
  3. Crown Of Cortez
