Despite a green start he could hardly have been much more impressive then winning on debut by 5L at Epsom (1m½f, good to firm) a couple of weeks ago. Has to shoulder a 6lb penalty as a result of that but should give a very good account.

11-2 but never really involved on debut at Salisbury (7f, good to soft) last month, beaten almost 10L there. Should be capable of improvement for both the experience and step up in trip and a market check is suggested.

62,000 gns foal, rising to 70,000 gns as a yearling. First foal of a triple 1m winner. Grandam Group-placed 7f juvenile winning half-sister to 1m4f winner Time Zone. Yard's juveniles not red hot this season so perhaps best watched first time.

10-1 and green on debut, so his neck second at Beverley (7½f, good to soft) looks a thoroughly decent effort in context. With improvement very likely and Ryan Moore up, he is likely to prove tough to topple this time.

Has put in two similar efforts so far at Haydock and Wolverhampton, both of which he will need to improve significantly upon to be winning today. Likely to be more attractive as a betting prospect when he has a handicap mark.
Half-brother to 7f-1m2f winner Sharja Queen. Dam is a Listed-placed 1m winning half-sister to 7f-1m Group 1 winner/top sire Dubawi, 1m4f Group 2 winner Emirates Queen and a 1m2f Listed winner. Lovely pedigree and potential to make a good debut.

Half-brother to a 7f juvenile winner. Dam winner at 1m2f, (inc. French Oaks), half-sister to 1m4f Listed winner, out of 1m2f Group 2 winning close relative of Oaks/Irish Derby winner Balanchine. Yard's turf juveniles 37% this year. Should go well.

60,000 gns yearling. First foal. Dam won over 1m as a juvenile and Irish Oaks second, out of 1m4f winning half-sister to 7f Group 3 winner/Irish 2,000 Guineas second and Listed winners. Another eye-catching page and probably capable of a good show.

17,000 gns yearling. Half-brother to five winners at 1m-1m2f, including two over this trip at two. Dam an unraced half-sister to French 2,000 Guineas winner Victory Note. Trainer can do the job with the right ammunition and a market check suggested.

Forecasts

Lynwood Gold (7/4), Morning Wonder (5/2), Setting Sail (9/2), Future Score (8/1), Regal Director (10/1), Ghazan (20/1), Starcaster (25/1), The Fiddler (50/1), Global Angel (66/1), Onefootinfront (100/1)

Verdict

The market should be a decent guide here with so many newcomers involved and a few with eyecatching pedigrees. Conceding a penalty is not easy at this age at the best of times, but LYNWOOD GOLD was impressive on debut and may be capable of doing so. Morning Wonder looks a serious threat, while Setting Sail hails from a yard whose juveniles have been flying this term and should be capable of a good debut. Other newcomers to note on the bookies' boards and in the preliminaries are Regal Director, Future Score , The Fiddler and Starcaster.
  1. Lynwood Gold
  2. Morning Wonder
  3. Setting Sail
