C&D winner who was disappointing last time out when wearing a visor for the first time (ran too free) and is now tried in cheekpieces. Had shaped well on his previous outing and a repeat of that run gives him a chance although he will need to settle better.
A winner of a selling handicap at Lingfield on the AW in July enjoying the drop in grade and ran with credit back up in grade on her next run. Last two starts have been poor though and has yet to prove she stays this far.
Has ability but the question would be whether he wants to use it, often looking rather reluctant and clearly didn't fancy racing last time. Given his demeanour, one to be wary of and best left alone here.
Takes a big step up in trip here having looked to stay 1m2f last time without settling fully. This will be just her third run for her current yard and they are clearly still finding out about her but she does remain with just one win to her name.
It took a career low mark for him to show any spark when runner-up last November on the AW over 1m2f but he's hardly built on that (has been hurdling). Well held last time out after five months off and struggled; best watched here.
A strong travelling sort who looks as though he might be a little better than his form figures suggest. Shaped well enough time out (badly hampered) but has finished weakly in the past and that's something to note here.
Now 5lb below his last winning mark but his last two runs have seen him disappoint and he was well below form last time out. A softer surface may well suit him better but his overall form of late isn't enough to win this.
Previous two victories this year have come over shorter but turned in his best effort of the year to record his third victory last time, proving his stamina for this trip. That was a weak race and a small rise in the weights means more is needed.
Front-runner who got the run of events when taking third at Yarmouth on his penultimate start when given a chance by the handicapper. Ran over hurdles next time (finished well held) and hard to know what to expect now back on the level.
Looked to come back to some sort of form last time out when taking second at Thirsk over this trip with cut in the ground. He does remain a maiden after 13 starts though so you do have to take that piece of form in moderation.
Returned to form from out of the blue on her penultimate start the first time she had shown anything since her debut. Failed to build on that last time out off the same mark and probably has work to do here.
Ran some reasonable races last year but remains a maiden and has yet to fire this year and hard to recommend on his recent exploits.
Offered little in two starts this season and still in essence is a poor maiden who runs from out of the handicap here.

Forecasts
Mr Sundowner (5/1), Steccando (5/1), Shamar (6/1), Wotabreeze (7/1), Lopito de Vega (7/1), Correggio (8/1), Falcon's Fire (10/1), Midnight Warrior (10/1), Aqua Libre (14/1), Annoushka (16/1), Gold Merlion (16/1), Patent (18/1), Duke Of Sonning (25/1), Optima Petamus (28/1), Belle Peinture (100/1)
Just a modest handicap and although STECCANDO remains a maiden the form of his second last time out reads well in the light of the winner’s subsequent exploits. Wotabreeze should always be respected around here and Shamar looks the sort to travel strongly although his finishing effort can sometimes be questioned. Mr Sundowner has been in good form this year although the handicapper is now starting to tighten his grip and Midnight Warrior also enters the equation on some of his course form.
- Steccando
- Mr Sundowner
- Shamar
