Lost unbeaten record at Newbury last time (5f, soft) but showed game attitude in going down. Margin was thin and, from the same mark, should mount a bold bid to add to wins at Wolverhampton and Redcar.

Winner on debut at Haydock in May 2016 but out of his depth in a Group 2 at Royal Ascot last summer. Three runs this term all on good to firm, joined this handler since last run at Hamilton in May and any support in the betting would be noted.

Has put together three rock solid runs since July, winning at Yarmouth over this trip and just failing in follow-up attempt at Newbury last month off this increased mark. Going the right way and should be in the mix again.

Fairly reliable performer with three win in 15 starts, including this term over 5f at Ripon in June when just edging home on the line. Likely to run his race, but may settle for minor money.

Two wins form 10 runs this season, both in previous four, have come at Pontefract and Beverley when appearing to relish the stiff 5f and testing finish. This track may not play to strengths and has 4lb hike to contend with, demanding career-best.

Is now 7lb higher than when winning over C&D in May, since scored at Catterick over the trip (rated 73) and dangerous if allowed to dictate matters up front. Not ideally drawn to get the lead.

Racked up a quick-fire hat-trick in midsummer, all wins over this trip, but rated 15lb higher than when that sequence kicked off and appears to have gone off the boil in three runs lately.

Verdict

A very open look to the finale on paper, with seven of the eight sprinters having scored at least one win this season. The exception is Plata O Plomo, who looked promising last year but faltered in three runs early this term. In his first run for David O'Meara off a break, he's one to take note of in the betting. There could however be plenty more to come from the thrice-raced STORM OVER, who lost very little caste in defeat at Newbury last time in the hat-trick bid. That form has been franked and, off the same mark now, he holds strong claims. Tahoo drops in class and has her chance while progressive pair Erissimus Maximus and Sheepscar Lad are entitled to get involved.
