€22,000 purchase as a yearling. Fifth foal and a half-brother to French 1m1f juvenile winner Mirandola. Dam an unraced daughter of a 1m2½f-1m5f winning granddaughter of Oaks winner Juliette Marny. Market check suggested.
15,000 gns yearling. Half-brother to 7f winners Salateen (inc. at two) and Hajjam. Dam a 1m1f-1m5f winning half-sister to 7f-1m4f winner Tough Leader, out of a 1m-1m2f winner. Stable's juveniles enjoying a good season (22%) so could go well.
Put up his best effort so far over C&D last time out, when a 2½L runner-up at 50-1. Can't be written off after that, though may be vulnerable in this field.
Has twice gone very close over this on the Tapeta at Wolverhampton, though well held on good to soft on turf in-between. Another who will surely pick up a race at some stage, though may be vulnerable to one or two less exposed runners.
20,000 gns yearling. Dam an unplaced half-sister to two winners from 1m-1m6f. Grandam a cloe relative of 1m2f/1m2½f Group 3 winner Trumbaka. Stable has hit the target 43 times with its turf juveniles this year, so he is respected on debut.
Has run to a similar level of form in two starts so far, both over 6f. This will be the slowest ground that he has tackled, so ha to prove that he handles it. Will have a handicap mark after this and may be one to consider more in nurseries.
Aside from her debut, she has put together some reasonably consistent efforts, though is yet to win from six starts. Sees out this trip well and returns to this company after being beaten in handicaps the last twice. Vulnerable.
£16,000 yearling. Half-sister to five winners including Tres Coronas (5f-1m2f, inc. at two) and Harold Peto (1m at two). Dam a French 1m4f winning half-sister to 1,000 Guineas third Alasha. Top yard should have her ready to make a decent debut.
Forecasts
Spray The Sea (11/4), Pelice (7/2), Arabian Jazz (4/1), Mi Capricho (6/1), Oswald (7/1), How Bizarre (11/1), Southpark (16/1), Canadian George (20/1)
An interesting opener, where the experienced runners such as Oswald and Arabian Jazz can't be ruled out, though they do look vulnerable to a newcomer with a bit of ability. Possibles for the latter category are Canadian George, How Bizarre, Southpark and PELICE and given that more than one of her relatives were juvenile scorers, the last-named may be straight enough to win first time.
- Pelice
- How Bizarre
- Southpark
