Sold twice as a three-year-old, for €3,200 and subsequently €10,000. Grandam is a half-sister to a bumper winner as well as hurdle/chase success, though yard has not had a winner in this sphere in the past five seasons.
Sold twice as a yearling, for €5,600 and then €9,600. Half-brother to a point-to-point winner, out of a Swiss maiden half-sister to 2m1f-2m4f hurdle/chase winner Granit Jack. Nice enough pedigree. Yard 0-11 in bumpers since 2013.
€14,000 foal who sold for £32,000 as a three-year-old. Tenth foal of a 1m5f Flat/2m hurdle winning half-sister to the dam of the Italian Derby winner Houmayoun. Stable 1-6 in bumpers this season. Market check looks prudent.

Tenth foal and a half-brother to four hurdles winners from 2m-2m5f. Dam won over 7f as a juvenile and is half-sister to 5f Group 3 winner Averti. Stable 1-15 with its bumper runners in recent seasons. This is its first such runner this season.
First foal of an unraced mare. Grandam a 1m½f Flat and 2m-2m1f hurdle winner and granddaughter of a 1m2f Flat winner. Ordinary enough page and given yard's 6% strike rate in this sphere, probably one to watch on debut.

Cost £22,000 as a three-year-old. Ninth foal and a half-sister to seven winners, including three over hurdles from 2m-2m4f. Dam a 1m4f Flat winner. Should stay well. Yard 24% in bumpers in recent years and this is its first such runner this season.
First foal of a maiden over 6f/7f who is closely related to 5f juvenile winner Dancing Red Devil, a half-sister to 6f Listed winner Manzila. Interesting jockey booking for this debut and yard's first bumper runner for some years.

Forecasts

Rococo Style (6/4), Snapdragon Fire (11/4), Whitmel (5/1), Jiminy Cricket (8/1), This Is Wendy (11/1), Its A Little Risky (12/1), Justthegrey (28/1)

Verdict

The booking of Richard Johnson for ROCOCO STYLE, together with the filly's pedigree and her trainer's healthy strike rate in this sphere is sufficient to steer us in that direction for a selection in the nightcap. This Is Wendy is interesting given the presence of Brian Hughes and the paucity of National Hunt runners for her stable in recent seasons, though she has stamina concerns to overcome. Whitmel and Snapdragon Fire are the other pair most likely to make their presence felt.
  1. Rococo Style
  2. Snapdragon Fire
  3. Whitmel
