20L winner of a Stratford Hunters Chase in April (2m6f+ good), he has filled the runner up spot on three occasions since including when beaten 12L in a Class 4 handicap by Braqueur D'Or latest. Vulnerable to any improver, off top-weight.

Won once in 13 attempts over hurdles (at Market Rasen in April), but has largely done okay in three goes over fences, simply beaten by far superior horses, including when a 4L runner up to Lovely Job here last month (3m good).

Closely matched with Brian Boranha on Market Rasen form from July. His earlier runner up effort to a thriving Petrou at Uttoxeter (2m6f+) represents fair form for this grade, and if the tongue tie helps should be thereabouts.

Had problems, but nursed back to health in Point-to-Points by Alan Hill (dual 3m scorer in March 2016). Back from another break at Fontwell last month (out of his depth), but requires an improved showing in cheek-pieces nonetheless.

Didn't make his mark over hurdles, and beaten in a match at Carlisle in May, but better over fences so far including when a surprise 12/1 winner of a 3m1f+ Newton Abbot novices handicap on debut in late June.

Forecasts

Brian Boranha (11/8), River Of Intrigue (15/8), Oriental Fixer (5/1), Always Archie (7/1), Velvet Cognac (28/1)

Verdict

BRIAN BORANHA bumped into an above average staying chaser for the time of the year in the shape of Lovely Job at the last meeting here in August (C&D), and his career overall has taken a slight upward curve since switched to fences. Whilst he's closely matched with River Of Intrigue on Market Rasen form from July, his latest effort was a better showing, and he's worth chancing in a relatively open contest despite the lack of numbers..
  1. Brian Boranha
  2. River Of Intrigue
  3. Oriental Fixer
