Makes his handicap debut here having gone one better than his runner-up slot on his penultimate start when winning last time out in a Catterick maiden over 1m4f. The slight drop in trip should be fine and the mark doesn't feel too onerous.
All his winning form has come on soft/heavy ground and the good ground he encountered at Haydock last time out was just a touch too quick for him. The ground may well not be soft enough for him here and he's up another 4lb from his last run.
Is a course winner but the losing run is starting to stack up and recent efforts haven't really shouted out that he was one to back. Should be seen to better effect at this sort of trip but others have better claims overall.
Deserves to win a race such as this having narrowly beaten in his last two contests in similar company although has been raised rather harshly 3lb for his latest defeat. Should find this trip suiting him perfectly and this string travelling sort is hard to dismiss.
A drop back to his last winning mark saw him successful on the Southwell Fibresand in March over 1m4f. Followed that up with two fair runs but looked to need the run last time out after a three month break and could take a hand here.
A much reduced mark and first-time cheekpieces appeared to be the reasons for a much improved performance when winning a Leicester 1m2f handicap off a mark of 65. Hasn't been able to back that up though and hard to know what to expect.
Struck on the AW at Newcastle in May off a 9lb lower mark than for his last win but hasn't been able to match that performance on turf in five runs since. Looks better on the AW these days and clearly struggling to take a hand on turf currently.

Forecasts
State Sovereignty (5/4), Indian Chief (5/2), Yensir (5/1), Haymarket (8/1), Henpecked (10/1), Peterhouse (10/1), Falcon's Fire (14/1), Invictus (16/1), Spes Nostra (22/1), Deep Resolve (25/1)
Not a bad end to the card with the State Sovereignty making her handicap debut setting the standard although she does face a few hard-knocking and capable handicappers here who may well be able to push her. One of those would be YENSIR who has looked unlucky on his last two starts and travels well in his races and he may well prove to be a little but of value here. Indian Chief needs softer ground than forecast to be seen at his best while Peterhouse will as usual look good for those looking for an each-way selection. Haymarket can’t be ruled out even off a higher mark after he ran well off this perch last time out behind two unexposed and improving rivals.
- Yensir
- State Sovereignty
- Peterhouse
