Mainly unsatisfactory campaign last season being well beaten and no impression on four starts. Others make more appeal on seasonal debut.
Last seen over hurdles when fifth of 17 here in June and is 0/5 in this discipline. Has recently been running solidly on the Flat, including last time out at the Galway festival.
Beaten 41L last time out in a novice chase at Tramore last month. Won a handicap hurdle over 2m4f on soft to heavy ground at Thurles in January 2015 off a 9lb higher mark.
Veteran who possibly found the hustle and bustle of the 17-runner Galway handicap hurdle too much last time out. 1/17 over hurdles but has won on two occasions in the past on heavy ground.
Below par performance on seasonal debut last month when second-last of 10 beaten 26L at Sligo. Despite being from a powerful yard the gelding has toiled on three occasions in the past on heavy ground.
4/22 over hurdles and still 5lb higher than last winning mark. The veteran is 4/12 over hurdles and has a 60% win and place strike-rate on heavy ground.
Has toiled on the whole in maiden hurdles but the gelding did put in a promising display in a handicap hurdle when third of 13 at Tramore in April. Others preferred.
Veteran who has failed to spark on two starts for his new yard. Won a handicap hurdle on final start for Jeremy Scott in March on soft ground off a 2lb higher mark.
Tailed off when pulled up before the last on handicap hurdle at Ballinrobe in June. Others make more appeal.
Beaten a total of 96L on two seasonal starts and difficult to envisage what improvement first-time cheekpieces will bring.
Beaten favourite last time out when 15L sixth of nine at Perth on stable debut. Probably needed the run and can be expected to improve with first-time tongue-tie.
Has been ineffective on four seasonal starts including beaten a total of 132L on her last two starts. Course winner and 2lb lower than last win but others readily preferred.
Forecasts
Benkei (5/2), Letter Of Credit (5/1), Tidy Zag (5/1), Get Up And Go (8/1), Brave Deed (9/1), Charle Brune (10/1), Kentucky Lass (16/1), Pinotage (20/1), Mystic Embarr (20/1), Munstead Pride (20/1), Golden Plan (22/1), The Lastonetogo (25/1)
The veteran Tidy Zag and Brave Deed could contest the lead here in the early stages of the race. If Benkei can transfer his genuine Flat form to hurdles he could be involved at the business end of the race. It may be better to sticking with solid heavy ground form which brings in veterans GOLDEN PLAN and Letter Of Credit.
- Golden Plan
- Letter Of Credit
- Tidy Zag
