Likes it when races fall apart, as when picking up the pieces to score here over fences in May. Early casualty over fences last time but still looks on a high enough mark, and others preferred.
In great form in the spring, a creditable sixth in the County Hurdle followed up by a Sandown win on the final day of the season. Seemed to improve for the step up in trip there and no saying he won't progress again. Chance.
Her form is a bit in-and-out but when she's on song, as she was at Worcester in June, she's capable of a good run. Conditions fine and if the short break has freshened her up, can go well.
Handled softer conditions best when winning with ease over shorter here last time, but handles this better ground too. Still relatively unexposed and more to come, but needs to show this trip suits as well as shorter does.
Just the one blip on her card this season, and even that third to Katy P looks better after her win at Worcester in the week. Up another 8lb after Market Rasen romp last time but no saying she's done with yet. Conditions fine and looks a player.
Has struck up a good relationship with Bryony Frost, 2-2 lately and win over Turn Turk in June has been franked since. Proven over C&D and likes quick ground, so drying conditions ideal, and looks sure to run a big race.
C&D winner here on softer ground in July, didn't do badly on first run for new yard when second to Gustave Mahler here and a bad mistake two out probably cost him his chance. No room for error in this field but not ruled out if hurdling fluently,
Backed off the boards to win at Market Rasen two starts ago, duly obliging, and improved on that when carrying a penalty at Worcester last time. Stays well and seems happier at a quicker tempo, so this race may bring out more in him. Shortlisted.
Has twice made all to win here this summer and likely to get his own way up front again, tends to idle in front so 8lb rise for latest win may not stop him but this is tougher and it's hard making all in such a competitive event.
Has done really well since joining this yard, and turned in a career best when second over fences at Stratford last time. Back over hurdles on a lower mark so has plenty going for him, and the quicker they go early the better his chance late on.
Took a seller at Stratford in August with the minimum of fuss, and purchased by current connections at the auction after. Has ground to make up with Coeur Tantre on latest start and others hold better claims.
Back over hurdles after winning two of his three novice chase starts this summer, and looks to have a future in that discipline, on a lower hurdles mark here but this trip a bare minimum and may find one or two others have too much speed today.
Looked to be learning the ropes for much of last season but it didn't stop him winning a valuable handicap at Haydock in the spring. Respectable fifth in a Punchestown handicap hurdle when last seen, worth a try at this trip and should improve again
Likes it here, winner here in June and went close the time before, but pulled up when last seen at Cartmel. May find this trip stretches him a little, and on that, others are preferred.
Forecasts
Wait For Me (3/1), Golden Birthday (5/1), Stamp Your Feet (5/1), Coeur Tantre (13/2), Whatzdjazz (9/1), Mcgroarty (12/1), Ballinure (12/1), Cut The Corner (16/1), Whoshotwho (16/1), Trevisani (16/1), Miss Crick (25/1), Cleni Wells (33/1), Henryville (40/1), Milrow (66/1)
A really competitive handicap and one that plenty can have a case made for them. With Coeur Tantre ensuring no hanging about, the improving MCGROARTY gets the vote despite a small question mark about the suitability of the track (looks a galloper). The way he was sent to the front to put the race to bed at Worcester marked him out as a smart stayer, and he take this en route to better things. Trevisani has impressed in a couple of wins around here and is another that will appreciate a good pace. Whatsdjazz keeps improving too and can go close. Stamp Your Feet has to prove himself at the trip but looks one to follow this year whatever happens here.
- Mcgroarty
- Trevisani
- Whatzdjazz
