Like many from this yard he knew his job on his debut and won in good style on his debut at Beverley over 5f. Looks sure to be suited by the extra furlong here and can make further strides forward despite giving weight away to the entire field.
Both his Haydock runs over this trip have looked useful with the form of the second run in particular looking strong. The third and fourth won next time out from that race with the winner also looking useful and he sets a standard here.
His debut showed him to be very inexperienced and green and it took most of the race for the penny to drop clearly learning through the race. He stayed on strongly over that 6f and looks sure to be suited by 7f+ in time.
Disappointing that he failed to improve from his debut last time out at Hamilton after showing up well at Ayr on his initial run when he did best of those ridden close to the pace. Soft ground could have been to blame but faces a stiffer task now.
Forecasts
Humble Gratitude (8/11), Equitant (7/2), Poet's Pride (9/2), Up Sticks And Go (17/2)
A decent looking quartet go to post for this novice stakes with all the field having shown promise but with Equitant the only winner in the field. He has to concede weight here to all of his rivals and that may just tip the scales in favour of HUMBLE GRATITUDE who has two good runs under his belt with the second Haydock run looking particularly good. Poet’s Pride is another improver and he’s preferred to Up Sticks And Go for the minor placing.
- Humble Gratitude
- Equitant
- Poet's Pride
