Arrives in good form after wins here over C&D and at Perth and a really good effort at Bangor last time. Concedes weight to all as a result but anything that beats him should not be far away from winning.
Won a Fontwell maiden hurdle in April on his first start for this yard and showed that he is still improving when beaten just over 1L at Worcester last time. Best in at the weights here on official ratings and looks a leading player.
Won a bumper here last year (2m1f, good to firm) when with Alan Swinbank and has steadily improved in three hurdles outings since joining this trainer. No reason why he can't continue to do so, though will need to take a bigger step forward to win.
1m1f handicap winner on the Flat last year, though he stays at least 1m3f on the level. Makes his hurdles debut here and sure to be well prepped for it, so a market check is advised to gauge any confidence in his chance.
Put in a couple of reasonable efforts in bumpers here and at Perth earlier in the summer, though not quite as good last time. Now switches to hurdles with no guarantees from his pedigree that he will see out the trip. Looks one to watch today.
Has been going reasonably well on the Flat this summer, going close to winning twice at Beverley from marks in the 60s. Top pilot booked for this hurdling debut. Should stay and is certainly one to consider.
Placed in half of her 16 Flat starts, largely at 7f/1m, though yet to win. Far from certain to get home, especially if they go an honest gallop, but a market check is nonetheless suggested as her Flat ability is similar to others in this field.
Forecasts
Man Look (11/10), Gibson Park (13/8), Strummer (10/1), Eez Eh (20/1), Patience Tony (20/1), American Hustle (25/1), Strong Team (66/1)
An interesting little contest with Man Look and GIBSON PARK the obvious pair to concentrate on and it is the latter who just gets the vote. Dan Skelton's charge might just have a little bit more improvement in him on the day. Patience Tony is heading in the right direction but perhaps not fast enough to be winning this, while Eez Eh, Strummer and American Hustle all represent good yards and it would be no surprise to see any of that trio emerge as challengers on their hurdling debuts.
- Gibson Park
- Man Look
- Strummer
