A maiden who was placed a few times when with Ruth Carr without ever threatening to win a race. Has been given a squeak by the handicapper and headgear now fitted, though clearly carries risks.
Sole win was over this trip at Wetherby (soft) last year and he has put in some good efforts in defeat since. Remains 4lb higher than that success and could do better now switched back to hurdles and in different headgear. Interesting.
Scored here in September over 2m4f (good) and also on soft ground at Cartmel (2m1f) two starts ago. 8lb higher than that today and well held from this mark last time, so has a bit to find.
Goes well here and has won two chases at the track. Sees out this trip over hurdles and is now 6lb lower than his last success, in the spring of 2016, though on recent evidence over fences that is easy to see why. Market check advised.
Half of his 10 career wins have been here, two of them over C&D, his latest being in May from 3lb lower. Out of sorts on his last two starts, but gets on well with this pilot and should be a different proposition at this venue.
Now 9lb lower than when scoring at Bangor just over a year ago. At his best on a sound or fast surface and gets that here, but has been out of form for a while and is not easy to recommend on recent evidence.
Well beaten in both starts over hurdles over similar trips to this and now goes handicapping off a stiff enough mark for what he has shown. However, with five weeks to work on him since his last run, he may be able to show improvement.
Couldn't handle a 6lb higher mark when pulled up on his handicap debut at Catterick in November. Now returns after a lengthy break and stepped up again in trip. Looks best watched this time.
1-60 under rules says plenty and although this mare can throw in a reasonable run from time-to-time, her stamina will be heavily tested over this far and she is likely to find at least a couple too good from this mark.
Well beaten in all starts and has made the frame just once, which was over fences. Not difficult to oppose him from this mark (1lb out of the handicap) over hurdles.
1lb out of the handicap, but has made the frame from this sort of mark before now and if straight enough after another three month absence then she is not ruled out from picking up some prize money.
Has shown very little to hang hats on from a punting perspective, with only one start this year producing anything of any note. Very hard to recommend from 2lb out of the handicap.
Forecasts
Ange Des Malberaux (7/2), Irish Hawke (4/1), Sendiym (5/1), Mathayus (8/1), Lowcarr Motion (10/1), Lady Vivona (10/1), Bygones For Coins (12/1), Daydream Island (16/1), Honest Intent (22/1), Ever So Much (25/1), Gasoline (28/1), Cully Mac (66/1)
Very poor fayre here and LOWCARR MOTION is a tentative suggestion now switching back to hurdles and tried in different headgear from this mark. Sendiym is an obvious potential danger given his love for this venue, while Honest Intent and Ange Des Malberaux could get involved in the shake-up. Lurking in there too is handicap newcomer Mathayus and although Sue Smith's four-year-old has shown little so far, he merits a market check to see if there is any confidence in him this time.
- Lowcarr Motion
- Sendiym
- Mathayus
