Stays well and likes quick ground, so will be wanting the rain to stay away, but in good form and seems to be progressing. Latest fourth at Newton Abbot looks solid form and this looks easier. Every chance of getting back in the winners enclosure.

Had looked to be losing his form a little but bounced back, to an extent, at Market Rasen last time although finishing effort left a little to be desired. Just 2 wins from 20 starts shows he's tricky to win with, so others preferred.

A big disappointment at Southwell last time, but if forgiving that effort then he's every chance on previous form here when second to Steel Bob. Has some novice form that makes him look well treated and chances if the short break has revived him.

Worth a try at this trip based on his staying-on third over shorter at Kempton last time out, and pedigree offers hope he will stay. Lightly raced and chances are we've not seen the best of him yet, so not ruled out if ready to go after a break.

Nothing if not consistent but has found winnig hard after his Bangor romp last year. Handicapper now cutting him some slack and last two efforts a step back in the right direction. Stays well, won't mind any rain and can't be discounted.

Possibly a touch unlucky not to win at Newton Abbot last time out (found trouble at a key moment) but that showed he stays well, is improving and so with yard going well again, must have every chance from 1lb higher.

Winner over C&D here in June but poor effort next time out only highlighted his inconsistency. May be happier back at Worcester and good jockey booking again, but predicting what mood he's in today is a game in itself.

Verdict

Only a smallish field but no shortage of pace, with Shantou Tiger and Vendredi Trois both likely to push on early. That should suit SAM NOIR and he can gain compensation for a slightly unlucky run at Newton Abbot last time out. Katy P continues to run well and her consistency should pay off with some more prize money here. Rollo's Reflection would be a huge danger if finding his earlier form.
