Dual C&D winner with the latest win coming here in June off a 3lb lower mark but found his good run of form coming to an end last time. Good value claimer returns for the ride and not to be written off back at this track.

Has proved a real money spinner this year winning on four occasions with three coming over C&D the last off a 5lb lower mark. Has acquitted himself well since his last win (both in higher grade) and likely to run with credit.

Looked to be building up to something when finishing fourth at Chester last time out (and before) when possibly doing a little too much too soon. She runs off the same mark here and could still be well enough handicapped to go close here.

From a yard that could be now finding their form she took advantage of a much-reduced mark to win last time out in impressive fashion. The cheekpieces worn for the first-time last time out need to work again here off a 6lb higher mark in a deeper race.

The second contender from this yard this rather frustrating sort has the ability to win a race such as this but rarely puts in a full effort. That probably accounts for the reason that he has only won one race so far and a risky proposition here.

Still involved in a long losing sequence that now stretches back four years although he still looks very well handicapped and should be able to win off this mark (81) having won off 97 before. Showed he's still capable last time and shortlist material here.

Took a couple 5f sprints earlier in the year both on good-to-firm and looked back to near her best last time out. Runs off her last winning mark but may find one or two too good here despite the plum draw in the rails.

Another one of these that that knows their way around here having won twice before over C&D but does look rather below form of late. Not found the winning thread this year and passed over here opposed by some in form types.

You have to go back to 2015 for his last win (that came over C&D) and he was rated 85 then. Now with a different yard and most definitely given a chance by the handicapper although he won't get an easy lead that he probably needs.

Mare who has been in wonderful form this year winning four handicaps but all at a lower level than this. Ran well enough here last time out in a race that she raced wider than ideal but still 5lb above her last winning mark.

Forecasts

Fumbo Jumbo (11/4), Bogart (10/3), Royal Brave (11/2), Orient Class (6/1), Gamesome (8/1), Lydia's Place (14/1), Pearl Acclaim (16/1), Kinloch Pride (20/1), Rosina (20/1), Economic Crisis (25/1)

Verdict

This looks quite a deep race for the grade and there are several (five) who have won over C&D with Bogart looking one who could well end a very long losing run. Rosina has to be given a chance if the cheekpieces work as well again while both Orient Class and Royal Brave are respected. FUMBO JUMBO may have done a bit too much too soon last time out but she merits the selection here based on her consistent form over a C&D she’s been successful over before.
  1. Fumbo Jumbo
  2. Bogart
  3. Royal Brave
