Back to hurdles after four chases, frustrating sort who has had his chances in both maiden and handicap hurdles. On official figures he should be very much in the mix but does look a hard horse to win with. Only going winner in race.
Unplaced in six starts over timber so far and well held on the Flat at Leopardstown (1m5f, soft) in June. Has struggled on the ground and over the distance in the past.
Dual bumper winner in spring 2015 but unraced since winning a 24 runner contest over 2m1f at Punchestown (good-to-yielding) in early May of that year. A check on the market is a must on hurdling debut.
Well beaten and no impression in three career maiden hurdle in November and December last year. Best watched following break.
Moved on for £16,000 at Ascot in March after winning a Point-to-Point at Kildorrery in February. Showed nothing on debut in Wexford maiden hurdle last month.
By sire Vinnie Roe, who was listed winner at 2, later top-class stayer, four-time Irish St Leger winner and useful NH sire. Best watched on belated debut.
Sent off at 80/1, 100/1 and 50/1 on last three starts. Poor bumper and not much better on the Flat, the gelding is probably best watched on hurdling debut.
Last of 18 on racecourse debut in January this year in Thurles maiden hurdle, subsequently well beaten in four bumpers since and last of 11, beaten 227L on hurdling debut earlier last month.
Doyen gelding who cost €12,000 as a yearling. Dam was unraced but he is a half-brother to a 2m hurdle winner. May well come on for 32L defeat on debut at Sligo in July.
Ran solidly enough on hurdling debut when fourth of nine, beaten 8L in Limerick maiden. Possibly change of tactics, rather than being held up may help.
By sire: Golden Tornado, who was unraced but has sired multiple jumps winners Dancing Tornado, Berties Dream and Carsonstown Boy. Best passed over here on belated debut.
Usually found at Kilbeggan or Sligo, where she puts in her best performances. Disappointed here in July when 11th of 13, well beaten in maiden hurdle.
Forecasts
Valgor Du Ronceray (5/4), Now Let Go (5/2), Ormskirk (7/1), Wait Here (8/1), Kitty B (10/1), Grandads Choice (25/1), Hip Hop Dancer (33/1), Mickey Shea (33/1), La Regle (50/1), Kosovo (50/1), Raghallaigh (50/1), Divin Desir (66/1)
Debuts for runners age nine and six, doesn't say a great deal for the quality of this race. Ormskirk, is improving over hurdles, Kitty B, has disappointed here, but is better than the majority of this field and Wait Here, could be one for the notebooks, while, VALGOR DU RONCERAY, should really be winning among this type of opposition.
- Valgor Du Ronceray
- Wait Here
- Kitty B
