Completed a January hat-trick when winning over this trip at Southwell but struggled in the main since. Well held on turf over shorter the last twice and this return to 1m6f should suit.
Successful twice for Brian Meehan last year but struggled in six starts for two subsequent stables. Handicap mark is falling as a result and market support would be noteworthy here.
Stepped up on debut effort for this yard when third over this trip at Nottingham (good) last time out. Cheekpieces worn for the first time on that occasion and retained today.
Made a winning debut for this yard over 1m4f at Wolverhampton last time out. Races off a 6lb higher mark today and reapplied hood and tongue tie worn for the first time for that success are retained here.
Seven race maiden and a beaten favourite on her last four outings. Most recent of those came when third over an extended 1m3f at Bath (good) last month and remains of interest having finished fourth over this trip in June.
Best effort in maidens came on his final outing over an extended 1m at Nottingham (good-to-firm) in June and ran well on handicap debut when fourth over 1m4f at Lingfield a month ago. One to note on his first attempt at this trip.
Sole success came over trip trip on the AW at Wolverhampton in February. Well beaten on soft ground at Bath on her penultimate outing and finished 41L last at Kempton (2m) last time out. Others make more appeal in this.
Six time winner in his youth but unraced since finishing 8L second over 2m at Lingfield in August 2013. Likely best watched on his return.
Forecasts
Pioneertown (2/1), The Twisler (3/1), Brandon Castle (4/1), Really Super (9/2), Calvinist (9/1), Start Seven (25/1), Beat Route (40/1), Iona Island (40/1)
PIONEERTOWN ran well when taking a marked step up in trip for his handicap debut at Lingfield last month and he can register a first career success for a trainer with a 37% strike-rate (7/19) of late stepping up in distance once more. The selection can be given most to do by recent Wolverhampton winner Brandon Castle who was making a winning debut for this yard when successful on that occasion while Really Super can take on her second attempt at this trip.
- Pioneertown
- Brandon Castle
- Really Super
